TomTom one not getting past loading screen

Postby tomtomfreak » Wed Sep 04, 2013 3:36 pm

Hello navitotal users,

i am currently experiencing a problem on my tomtom one that i havent had before, and i cant seem to find a solution.

basically, i was trying to put a different map on my tomtom, as i foolishly didnt do a backup.....
so i deleted the old map, put on the new map, patched it using fastactivate, disconnected the tomtom, it started loading to about 30% and then the loading bar just disappears, leaving me with a black loading bar

please help

Just do a clean install on an empty device.
And by the way: we need all details.

Run TomTom Current Configuration {13.11.2011} & post the results here.

Allright, so i did a format on the internal memory on the tomtom,put navcore 7.903 on it,loaded Europe_1GB_South_910_4952 onto it.
then i used the latest version of fastactivate to Update the meta.txt. patch maps, voices, etc. and patch the navcore.
then rebooted and..... still the same thing.

-EDIT-
information gotten from TomTom Current Configuration:

ttgo.bif:
ApplicationVersion=9183

Map(s):
J:\Europe_1GB_South_910_4952\

Storage:
Size 975MB, Free 110MB
TTGO.BIF:
ApplicationVersion=9183
TTGO.BAK:
Not Found...
TTGO.ORI:
Not Found...
TTNAVIGATOR.BIF:
Not Found...

Note: i do have another TomTom one that is working and i've also tried just copying all the files from the working one to the broken one, which didn't work

Look for a .meta.dct file in the map folder to confirm that the map is patched.

If the 7.903 was installed, why is the config showing a 9.138 Navcore which is a very odd version number anyway??
Also: if the Navcore and map was installed on an empty device, FastActivate can't activate the map - and there should be no V9 NC showing up.
You are definately doing something badly wrong here....

9183 is the 7.903 navcore Application Version, not the navcore itself. navcore_7.903.9183.go910.cab

Simply use the latest version of FastActivate and alsways make sure that the map you selected also has a corresponding meta code posted.

Well, check the validity of your map archive by testing it witn WinRAR or similar.

If that proves out okay, try reinstalling it.

so i found out that .dct error means that fastactivate doesnt have the meta, but the meta is in the maps post

; Europe_1GB_South v910.4952
56 00 17 91 3E 51 C9 A8 42 E2 FD E8 49 B6 51 B1 Europe_1GB_South-788.meta

how can i insert it manually?

-EDIT-
i tested all the rar files with winrar, no errors

This 910 map meta is really included in the most recent FastActivate downloads.
I activated this map several times without any problems.

But I should worry about the 'incomplete map'. If your archive is okay, then I should reinstall (overwrite) the map on your TT and then run FA again.

If that doesn't help (which it should):
Quoting tendriver: "Put FA.exe, your created meta.txt file & a copy of your device's ttgo.bif file in your new map folder, then run FA option 2."

As far as your special meta.txt file simply put this line in it:
56 00 17 91 3E 51 C9 A8 42 E2 FD E8 49 B6 51 B1 Europe_1GB_South-788.meta ; Europe_1GB_South 910_4952

unpacked the map again, deleted old map from TT put new one on, still no progress

so then i put my fastactivate.exe , my own meta.txt, and a copy of the ttfo.bif into the new map folder, ran FA, patch maps, voices, speedcams and fuel prices.
still the same error

Of course there's no progress before you patch the map.

What error ? Incomplete map?
So no meta.dct file in the map folder?

If the TT freezes at startup,delete currentmap.dat and/or currentlocation.dat
