tomtom one?

Sat Nov 17, 2012 11:52 pm

have got an old tomtom one, tt homes recognises it as a new version but typing the first two digits in to tomtom web site says its a 2nd edition, its the one with no internal memory .the memory card was completely blank, so i put on it an old back up of my tomtom one minus the bif file it booted up creating a new bif file, patched everything and it worked fine. the only thing is that this model has bluetooth and it doesn't seem to be supported by my old back up i.e. nc 8016 bl 55022. so i tried other navcores and also a totally clean install from tt home which gave me nc 7914 but these other navcores wont let it boot to create a new bif file. can i add anything to the working navcore to support bluetooth or any other suggestions would be welcome.
could bootloader 55022 be causing a conflict somewhere

kind regards

1. ATTA BOY!!
2. If the device has bluetooth & it has the current official navcore 7.914 installed, then bluetooth should be functional. You don't need a new bif file for patching purposes. You can use the one that was created with your old backup. All that the patcher looks at in the bif file is the Serial# & UniqueID.
3. If any of the other navcores have a b/l newer than 5.5022, it should have been installed when you tried them. I take it that your 8.016 was already patched. How did you patch the other NCs that you tried.

Would be nice not read a bandworm here....
Even if your ONE has BT it is only for a data connection, so no hands-free possible.

i didn't patch the other navcores as i couldn't create a new bif file. i didn't know i could use the original. so thanks for that information. i'm leaving it as it is because it works great and it's just to leave in the glove box for emergencies, keeping my better devices in good condition for planned journeys.

@ Downunder35m
By the way what's a bandworm?
thanks for your help and i hope you keep out of trouble outbush in your 4wd

I meant the way you wrote;) A bandworm is like that, no real start, no end - they just fall apart LOL
If it is only for backup when lost I would not bother too much, but:
I would make a full backup and install a V9 Navcore and a current map on it ;)

i,ve used your 9.430 for small devices before when a previous tt one was all i had and it worked fine, might try that again, unless there is a later or better version you can suggest

Check the 9.485 I posted, it is the latest in terms of being compatible with almost any device.
Read the instructions carefully and choose the right version, you can always use the fullbackup and overwrite it with a version to fit if you need a full setup instead of a basic NC.
You'll find it in the Navcore section.
