Tomtom one v3 will not connect to computer

Postby halfman » Thu Oct 31, 2013 12:18 pm

As my old Tomtom died I bought(second hand) a Tomtom one v3(4no1.000)but it will not connect to any of our family's fairly new three laptop's.

I have the latest drivers and when I switch on the tomtom it ask's if I want to connect to the computer, but then the computer's tell me that connection cannot be made, I have been into Device manager on windows 7 and uninstalled the "unknown" tab and re installed but it's still the same, does anyone have any suggestions as to getting (what I think)is the right driver.
I have tried different USB leads(so discounting the USB lead)

Please be gentle as I do not normally have much to do with these things.

Confirm you have TT Home on all 3 laptops.
Do a 30 second hard reset before you try to connect to your computers again.

I have downloaded and tried TT home and MyDrive on all my computers and nothing will work.

What is MyDrive?
Did you do a 30 second hard reset before you tried to connect to your computers again?

I may sound unlikely but try using a (couple of) different USB-cables.
I had a lot of problems a while ago with connecting TT to pc but simply changing the usb did the trick.

The old cable can still be used for several pc connections but I can't use it anymore for TT.
Just try it.

MyDrive is on the tomtom website and appears to be taking over from tomtom home, I have done a hard reset for more than 30 seconds and also tried on someone else's computer,so I am assuming its the TT one that's the problem.

Thanks for your replies.

If you would read the instructions on the same website, you would realise MyDrive is utterly useless, as it is not for your device!
