tomtom one will not connect to pc

Postby barny » Tue Nov 09, 2010 2:27 pm

please can someone help pls.....

Device: TomTom one 3rd edition ( it has the following numbers on it - N14644)

Problem:

i downloaded and installed an se navcore : SE_navcore.8.410.1218_32mb_Devices , as recomended in one of other posts.

after install, i disconected the usb wire, then started tomtom device.

device simply boots up and goes straight to telling me "no maps installed", did not even see the boot screen or anything!

device will not give me option to conect to pc .

i need to conect to pc to install maps!

what have i done wrong, can this be fixed....

i do have backup of previous tomtom, but cannot reinstall as the device will not connect to the pc, i know its not faulty wiring.

ps... the device does not hace a hole to reset it !

Do a hard reset, your device does have a reset button see tendrivers link or my pic below

 • Hold reset for 30 seconds
 • Hold on/off for 5 seconds (Untill you see the black config screen)
 • Press reset once to turn off
 • Turn on as normall with usb connected and your device will connect straight to your PC

You can ignore that error that pops up, there is no need to scan the drive , DO NOT FORMATT THE DRIVE

This does make a diffrence yes , your device has no reset pinhole but the on/off acts as the reset as you found out,

Also If i had known you had a ONE 125/130 i would have reccomend SE_Navcore.8.412.1236_32mb_devices.rar and NOT 8.410 , but if it is working now then there is no need to change

mm. it will not create a problem straight off, but formatting a tomtom device memory will shorten the life of it ;)

One 125/130 was released in 2008 and looked like this -
1927

One v3 was released in 2007 and looks like this -
1926

TT One 3rd Edition 3.5" screen, 32MB RAM Memory, no more than 1GB internal memory, no card slot.
TT One 125/130 3.5" screen, 32MB RAM Memory, 2GB internal memory, no card slot.

thank you very much guys for all your help and advice ...

have managed to install - SE_Navcore.8.412.1236_32mb_devices.rar with maps 855.2884.

seems a bit unstable, but will test for a while before deciding to keep or not...

when i say unstable . . i mean:-
1- every time i tap screen to make adjustments or to start navi, when screen goes back to map screen, for first few seconds no map is visible, then suddenly it appears.
2- i installed pgps cams, and when i was setting up to warn the sound stopped working
3- generally feels a bit jittery.

I am NOT complaining, just providing feed back. please dont be offended.

ps.. i no longer get a start up splash screen

wounder if these problems are specific to me?

Is there a reason you are using 3rd party cams and not officiall tomtom ones ??
and dont worry about the missing splash, my nav runs in the same way ;)

There is no such tool!!!!
For a splash screen from TT, go TTHome, Add Traffic, Voices etc, Images & Icons, Start-up images. To use a personal image, click "How do I create my own content" in the lower left corner of the Start-up images page.
