TomTom remote control

Postby Janos6662000 » Sun Mar 12, 2017 8:44 pm

Hi all
Can anybody please tell me which is the latest navcore which I can use with the TomTom Remote control?
I have a GO 910 and I would like to keep the remote functional.

Thanks in advance,

Janos

Sorry to say that, but is not working on my GO 910
First of all, I cannot connect the remote with the 9.510 navcore. The Go x20, x30 and x40 series have a Bluetooth remote which probably can be connected. The x10 series had a different remote.
Furthermore, I don't see the Jukebox (or other media player) option in navcore 9.510
Of course, is more important to have a modern navcore, than having the Jukebox, but it would be nice to have them both...

You can try the 9510_X10. If this not work then the only what you can do is
install the latest navcore (9510) via TomTom Home with the old Icons.

Thank you holyhead
I downloaded and tested the archive you recommended.
It works, but does not work with the remote, although it has Jukebox.
Sorry, please can you explain how to do this?

Make a backup from the 910 and delete everything.

following the instruction
[Please Register or Login to download file]

After this is done disconnect the 910 from the computer. Give it a 15 sec reset
and start the 910 till the announcement no Map found.
Place the chosen map
After that run fastAktivate and choose
Select 1
Select 2
Select 3 Wait for the announcement navcore Patched.

Done

Hopefully, everything works now. For voices etc, you copy the folder from the
backup to the new Navcore.

It is also possible first to try the Go_910. If this works you can skip the
instruction above.
You only have to place the map and activate

Thank you holyhead for trying to help me.
Instinctively I did the same procedure before, now I repeated it, but problem is this one:
TomTom Home installs the latest supported version to the GO 910, which is 7.903
If I copy the map, patch navcore, etc, that old navcore will not work with the new maps. Right now I don't find the compatibility chart, but 9.xx maps are certainly not supported by that navcore.
I also tried the navcore from the Go_910.zip archive, that also works, but does not detect the new 9.xx maps.
I guess I will have to give up the idea to use remote control... :-(

Hello holyhead
I copied Europe 9.85 8155
I used Fastactivate:
[Please Register or Login to download file]
My TomTom with navcore 7.903 still doesn't see the map:
[Please Register or Login to download file]
I can copy back an older map to be able to show you screenshots of the version and that new maps are simply invisible to that navcore.

The map works not with navcore 7.903
You need.

1.Europe 985_8159 (prefered)
2.Europe 985_8211

Janos,

1. Firstly make sure you have a fully working device so set up your Go x10 with the official NC and a new map that Holyhead has already suggested: NC 7.903 & Europe 985_8159
2. Once that is complete & running successfully, make a full backup of that system so you can restore it if you need to.
3. Afterwards, you can experiment with NC 9.510 SE and the switchfiles to enable jukebox & Bluetooth

A Go 910 does have Bluetooth so I would try to setup your device with NC 9.510 SE running in x40 emulation with Bluetooth switched on and you should have both jukebox and remote working. We cannot promise that you'll be completely successful as the Go x10 series are known to be problematic but you will be able to have a newer navcore with more advanced maps at least.

Hi fredderf
Thank you for your detailed answer.
Unfortunately you misunderstood me...
I was not using TomTom Home for fault findig nor map testing. It was only a quick way to get a better screenshot of the same message that I had on-screen without PC connection.
I know how to read compatibility chart, I was simply not finding it.
About the jukebox: it is not something that important, but is still a feature.
Now I installed map Europe 985_8159 on the old navcore, as holyhead recommended. Everything works.
Maybe later I will try the experiment with the new navcore as you described.

Thanks again!
