Tomtom in Renault not working Stolen ??

help. I have a Renault Megane with sat nav built into the dash (tomtom). It says no maps cannot be found. When I look closer there is not SD card in the slot. I think someone have stolen it. I am a Newbie how do I go about getting it back working ? many thanks

how do i get the device info please , i dont have an old sd card with tomtom on , i am wanting to do a new install

You can only the info off a working system or if the SD card was used in the car before.
You could try to put the empty SD into the car and start the system, it will complain but you might get the SD initialised so that the normal instructions provided by Tendriver in post 2 will apply.
In case your device does not write the files you need for Home (unlikely), follow point 3 of the instructions and extract the whole content to the root of your SD.
Insert into the car, start the system, wait until it complains and shut down.
Now take the SD and follow the instructions from step 2 to the end.
