BJ-Web wrote:1. But i copied the "9.205.rider3.CAB-navcore-RIDER" to the SD-Card overwriting the original files of NC 7.9xx and it says "ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=7901" already.
But thats not a prob for me. Now, after fastactivation, the tomtomHome application starts automatically. i guess that's good...
2. now trying out downloading and patching a map "Europe_2GB 900.4602".

Good, target was a ugrade to newer navcore and maps of europe.
1. the maps are bigger than 1GB so i bought a CnMemory 4GB SD Card 133-speed without HC.
2. then i downloaded the maps 900.4602, 900.4608 and 900.4617 (without an premium account puh... )
3. Installed TomTom Home2 on the PC, downloaded the one file asking to work with the Rider. No further updates o. a.
4. With the FastActivator installing the NC and maps worked like a charm and the results were:
5232 (pic from TT Home on PC)
and after reboot 5233 (pic from TT Home on PC)
5. so tendriver was right. Changes only after new start of the device.
all good, no?
523452355236 (pics from TT Home on PC)
6. And then after 3 device boots (in the car with 12V ): everytime the f... famous red screen:
"you can't work with this map on this device!"
This i tried with all the 900's maps on the 9.205 NC. was not really motivating...
7. i thought: tendriver maybe was right: i need a SDHC - Card...
then i found the newest navcore 9.500 from downunder (many many thanks to him) and tried that one with all these 900's maps.
Someone will think i have too much time.....
8. Everytime the same symptomtoms: on PC all ok, on Rider2 red screens... i guess, the reason is that the card reader simulates a newer device (or SDHC) and on PC the driver/compatibility is present but not at the Rider (or so)...
Then i tried, as a very last try, an older card Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB_895_4436. i don't know why really but it was a thought... And the result on PC was ok again. And on the device? Perfect, perfect!!
The 4GB Card with 133-speed is much more faster, the routes will be planned faster and much more options. This really works for me!
9. And tendriver: you're not right : 4GB SD without HC is possible on Rider2.
But thank you very much for support!
great forum! thanx to all of you!

1. Am I right in assuming that you are advising me to go ahead with either the SE or the Downunder version of the 9.500 NC ?
2. If I can get this working what would be the best Europe 905 map I could use?
It would be nice to get some soothing words of confirmation.

Razorblatter wrote:1. On the one hand it is said that the best NC for a device is the NC TT Home offers you.
2. I don't want to risk bricking a device so I am apprehensive about unscheduled NC changes.
3. So, because activation of a map is dependent on the NC version. I should be able to activate at least three current maps.
But, logically, the Rider won't be using advanced features so I wonder what would be my best choice.
