TomTom XL IQ routes help!

Postby Miguels » Tue Jul 07, 2015 9:51 am

Hello everyone!

Last 2 days i´ve been trying to get my TomTom XL IQ routes map updated. I thought i found the right map (TT Europe 1GB South 950.6544) and the fastactivate with it but a error with Integrated_meta came up.. it could't update it.. Also manually i wouldn't succeed. Tried everything! But this tomtom is so slow and takes hours to copy files to it! So now im making a new start, format the tomtom and then try again. Anyone knows what i should do else? maybe wrong map or whatsoever?

The tomtom didnt start when booting it with the error on integrated_meta so maybe thats the problem??
Also before all this i updated the tomtom with TomTom home. Maybe this was wrong to do? because i know i had a earlier map from this website on it that worked like a charm (is there a place where i can find a fresh install so i can get it back to factory settings and from that point upgrade it to the newest version with fastactivate?).

Thanks already for the help

Michiel.

If the file copy take forever than you have the wrong bootloader installed.

And for your map I see no meta code in the map thread.

Download [Please Register or Login to download file] , unpack to the root of your device - confirm to overwrite if there is still a file with the same name on the device.
With the next boot the bootloader will be installed.
If you check again the bootloader should show with "0" as the version number.
File transfer should work now as normal.

Allright thanks for all the advice! i installed from clean tomtom, the old data from backup without maps. Then replaced old map with Europe_South_950_6548. Patch but still gave error Integrated_meta. But the tomtom works... Weird right. Something to do with the fresh install maybe, or different map!

Would it be wise to leave it like this or should i update my bootloader?

Thnx for the effort,

Michiel

If slow file transfer is still an issue, then I would change it.

Thanks Downunder35m, I had the same problem, very slow files transfer, and it was fixed with your system file.

I have a tomtom xl iq route too, when you have serious problems you can format it
After finishing formatting reconnect to tomtom home and it wil install automaticly the main programm, then install eruope map and activate

I have a question too
I have left 20 MB space on my tomtom, so I guess it will be to slow (tomtom xl uses HD space also for memory ...? )
Can i delete some cspeech country files wich i will not use like cspeech_CHE and cspeech_ITA ?

You can delete those csspeech files that you don't use.
But 20mb is enough to operate without problems.

Downunder35m or tendriver
Sorry to drag up an old thread.

I have a TomTom ONE 140, BootLoaderVersion=55136. This has been going on and bugging me for years. The file transfer speed from PC to TomTom is slow (pauses, transfer, pauses transfers and so on). Takes about 70 minutes to copy 200 meg from PC to TT.

I've come across this thread a few times and finally decided to try the "system" file recommended here.
I do not have an existing "system" file on the root of my TT (Don't get asked to overwrite when copying) - I do have show hidden files enabled.
When I start my TT with the "system" from here, my logo screen just blinks on/off/on/off. I have to power off by holding power button for 15-20 seconds, connect to PC and turn on again and remove the "system" file and then all is working again.
Googled around, all other forums always indicate the bootloader version issue and replace the "system" file, but I don't have one. Some of these posts are over 6-7 years old.

Any suggestions to fix the file transfer speeds?

Thanks

Then you have done something wrong in the past.

Checking bootloader (the only reliable method)

Enter a device reset 15 sec.

Then turn on the device and hold the start button until you
get info screen. Which bootloader is there.

thanks for the reply holyhead.
good and bad.
the good, bootloader 0 copied and installed ok. TTGO.BIF after install was this,
[TomTomGo]
DeviceName=TomTom ONE IQ Routes Edition
DeviceVersionHW=ONE IQ Routes Edition
RamDiskVersion=20130404
BootLoaderVersion=0
LinuxVersion=842337
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9510
ApplicationVersion=1234792.2

Copied the new system file from attached BootLoader_v5.5022 directory but when I eject from PC and TT reboots, my logo screen just blinks on/off/on/off. left it for 5 minutes and nothing happened. no install screen pops up like the bootloader 0 process.

reverted back to the 0.0000 bootloader and TT is working again.

Any suggestions?
Thanks for your help.
