Tomtom XL IQ Routes question

Postby acomet » Thu Jul 05, 2012 8:34 pm

Tomtom XL IQ routes with Western Europe maps.
Disk size 1.91GB with no SD slot.
Connected to Tomtom Home and updated with latest software.
I downloaded Turkey_891_4328 which was 61.4 MB.
I have about 70MB free on the device so I would like to put these maps on.
I don't know how to do it though.
Do I just copy all the files to the root directory, I tried this didn't seem to work?
or do I need to put them in specific folders?
Right now I just want Turkey maps so if I need to remove other maps its ok.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply tendriver.
I have successfully downloaded the files.

My confusion is where do I copy these to on my tomtom xl (no sd card) which already has Western Europe maps on it.

Do I just dump them in the root folder?
Apologies if this is in the instructions and I am being stupid.

How about you start by reading the instructions and maybe some of our tutorials?

Ok so I think there is no meta code and therefore Turkey map is unusable

Is there any other option to get Turkey maps on this 1.91GB device. The Western European map on it now doesn't have it.

At this stage all you can do is take maps that have a meta code posted.
I guess so far only Europe East contains Turkey as well.
Other otion would be to use a 855 map until a code for the new maps is available - or to buy the map and share the code ;)

That is the correct answer.

There are not any Turkey 890/891 maps available at this time. There are 2 885 maps available.

1. Did you also patch your navcore?
2. Main Menu, Change preferences, Switch maps, Select a map.

Thanks tendriver.
Yeah I just tried again and it says its already patched.
If I go Change Preferences -> Manage Maps -> Switch map then I just see the western european map listed there

I guess I've messed up a step or missed a step

Look in your Turkey map folder for a file that ends in .meta.dct.
