tomtom start redcross

Postby hpscorpion » Wed Sep 28, 2016 1:47 pm

Whenever I turn on my GPS appears a red cross flashing. Already installed navcore factory by tomtom home and always returns the same thing happens.
If I use on tomtom home option "use my gps" it works perfectly.

Did you try to reset the Start?
Perhaps try using ClearFlash?

Did you try to fast format it and let TTH install all software until the final version navcore v9.510?

1. Ok
2. It's not available from TT at the moment but I've uploaded it [Please Register or Login to download file] for you....run it 2 or 3 times
3. According to the info in post #1, TTH installed NC 9.057 which is the official NC for your device.

A red flashing cross normally indicates that there is something wrong with the software (NC) installed on your device.

Take the TT off the computer, let it restart and connect again to PC/TTH and it will offer next update. Do that untill it offers no more updates.
Restart after each update (as indicated).

Can you post content of ttgo.bif?
Remove your device ID.
Can you chkdsk via your PC onto your TT to solve any disk errors?

No. Your TT creates a new ttgo.bif at every startup. That is normal.

However, it is very scarce but it can happen that a ttgo.bifv is not created anymore.

I've seen this two time and have been unable to correct this. I suspect some electronic error.

As I said: I have been completely unable to correct this misbehaviour. The exact cause of this is also unknown to me.
Battery has got nothing to do with it.

A few weeks ago I had a working GO 740 with old navcore. As soon as I updated via TTH it did not work anymore and I found out that ttgo.bif was not created anymore. Even reinstalling an (edited) version was unsuccessful.
In this case I couldn't even install a up to date map with an old navcore because the high level new maps need a 9.xx navcore.
I guess it's just bad luck.

The red cross indicates that the RAM cannot access the navcore that resides on the HDD

I've only had this happen once before and it turned out to be a faulty partition on the internal disk.

I deleted the partition > remade it > formatted and reinstalled and all was fine again

I think that's what happened to me. As the GPS can not start more it does not create ttgo.bif
