Perhaps try using ClearFlash?
Did you try to fast format it and let TTH install all software until the final version navcore v9.510?

1. Ok
2. It's not available from TT at the moment but I've uploaded it [Please Register or Login to download file] for you....run it 2 or 3 times
3. According to the info in post #1, TTH installed NC 9.057 which is the official NC for your device.
A red flashing cross normally indicates that there is something wrong with the software (NC) installed on your device.

Restart after each update (as indicated).

Remove your device ID.
Can you chkdsk via your PC onto your TT to solve any disk errors?

Razorblatter wrote:No. Your TT creates a new ttgo.bif at every startup. That is normal.
However, it is very scarce but it can happen that a ttgo.bifv is not created anymore.
I've seen this two time and have been unable to correct this. I suspect some electronic error.

Battery has got nothing to do with it.
A few weeks ago I had a working GO 740 with old navcore. As soon as I updated via TTH it did not work anymore and I found out that ttgo.bif was not created anymore. Even reinstalling an (edited) version was unsuccessful.
In this case I couldn't even install a up to date map with an old navcore because the high level new maps need a 9.xx navcore.
I guess it's just bad luck.
