Tomtom Truck Driving me mad!!

Tomtom Truck Driving me mad!!

Postby akacheesy » Sun Jan 23, 2011 8:14 am

Hey folks I'm looking for some help before I throw my satnav out the window.

I have a Go730 with truck map 860.3122 and navcore 8.392.

The problem I am having is when routing from South of the Dartford crossing to the other side, say Thurrock. It simply will not route me through the tunnel. I have (I think changed all the restrictions) yet it still sends me via the Woolich ferry.

Has anyone else experienced this and fixed it? If so How?

many thanks

I dont think there will be such a fix for such a problem, all i could suggest is using a older map ;)

hmm, or wait for the new one. I can of course change the vehicle profile to car then it takes the right route but that kinda defeats the object of having truck maps. I hate it when things don't work properly......Grrrrr!!

I also have the same problem with this map, there seems to be a weight restriction on the entry road into the Dartford Tunnel approaching from the south which if you remove always comes back no matter how many times you do it. I don't know how to resolve this but there is also one in Holland which is the same so there may be quite a few that have not come to light yet. Tom Tom obviously do not verify all of these Map Corrections.

There is a discussion about that problem here, hope it helps
Ihave sorted my map now although it is a tedious job, there is a "blocked for all trucks" restriction as well as weight . i altered the 32 ton weight restriction to 100 tons and removed any others.

I tried changing weight restriction to 50 tons but it still would not route me through the tunnel when planning a route but I will try the 100 ton limit and see.

going from south to north i started at the junction before the tunnel and finished at the 1st junction after the tunnel, altered /removed all restrictions except tunnel heights .there seemed to be a few and i had to go short distances at a time to check they had gone.

when adjusting the weights etc dont forget to agree to mapshare then you get the option to make the correction permanent.
dont know what you mean regarding your comment " Also I can't seem to get any map corrections, any tips there?"

After removing restrictions time and time again only to find they come back I think they have finally gone and I can plan a route which takes me through the Dartford Tunnel North bound. I have also set the weight limit to 100 tons as suggested earlier. Here's hoping!!

don't worry to much about mapshare, just do your own, but when you click yes to mapshare whilst making a correction it gives you the chance to make it a permenant one on you unit afaik.
