PS why not try re-adding a couple of those deleted bits back in one-at-a-time to see what more you CAN squeeze back on?
Maybe the Vocaliser folder & the Cphoneme.dat if you have room for both (one's no good without the other)

cheers dave, copied the mapsettings file over and it didn't like it, kept restarting and bout up a boot type text menu. any way to solve this??

That's a common (small) problem easily sorted. Do a quick search for "mapsettings.cfg"

when all this is installed we can go to tomtom home for map updates etc??

hi, do any of the files i've deleted off to fit it to my go700 have anything to do with the wireless feature to connect my phone to it and use the plus services? Many thanks. Chris.

No Chris, none of those deleted files/folders have anything to do with phone connection etc (just spoken address input "navigate home" etc).
