yes i put bif in root and i have to dct files in map all on card
just wondering if card could be at fault

A bad card is a possibility. Put your backup on it as a test.

tried that before runs on card reader but not in device also when i put all new files on card works on reader but only as 7903 and no map
tomtom shows card ejecting both ways

By Reader, you are referring to TT Home, Operate my device?

Do you have another card?

yes when in card reader tt home starts lets me operate my go shows no map also when i go to manage my go shows 7903 version
and not the 8398 dump version also dosn't show map in this section even though its on the card.

Confirm that everythhing is on the card & the internal memory is empty.

Open the device with windows explorer. Cut the internal memory contents. Paste them into a new folder on your desktop.

can't find folder named internal but one folder with itn is this the one

There is not an internal folder. Internal memory refers to your devices root directory.

done everything copy pasted root in new folder still no joy put in card reader will show everything in tomtom home map navcore but put in tom tom still rejects card also wont connect to pc ive put maps on 520 710 910 this has me beat

Confirm that you cut & pasted everything in the root & that the internal memory is now blank.

ok i now have tomtom connected to pc with original sd card in it what the best steps to take now

answer to post 27 i hooked tomtom to pc went to windows explorer copy and pasted to new folder i never cut and pasted incase it damaged the original map card is this were i have gone wrong
