Confirm that your device has both internal memory & a card slot.

yes it has card slot but if i take card out it asks for card

the bootloader has to be put into the tomtom with a sd card not an sdhc so it will then recognise the sdhc

just got 2gig sd card will try your method and will let you know but just to let you know i have the early truck map 815-2112 which is 1.86gig and this is now running on my device with 8398 dump all looks good but still going to give your way a go

a. This dump includes the system file for bootloader 5.5260 which reads SDHC cards & works fine on the x00's & ONE XL's

Did you delete this 5.5260 bootloader? If not, then you don't need to do the 2GB card thing in post 33. Confirm the current bootloader in the ttgo.bif file on the card with the 8.398 dump.
