TomTom Truck map problem.

Hi there,

I`m using truck map 840.2554 with navcore 8.395 XL version, works a treat but I cannot find tomtom services to turn on the police cameras anybody got some idea please, thanks in advance.

Confirm you have a patched navcore & map. Confirm that the speed cams are in your map folder & have been patched. Confirm that your device is not set to hide some icons.

I confirm all of the above are done and all icons are on show, however just been playin aroud with it and have changed the navcore for the the much larger one in the folder ie not the XL one and the tomtom plus appears with this one, I`m going to test it on my way to work tonite to see if it works, the map starts up on my unit, but on first start up it says something like there are no truck something or other for this map, but when I went into settings it allowed me to put in a truck etc, so fingers crossed, this is for a m8 goin to europe with it 2morow

Based on the bold statement above, confirm that you have both a meta.dct & a tmeta.dct in the truck map folder. Both are required for proper map operation.

yes I do have both in there and the map is actually working, I just need to test it on my way to work right now, thanks for your reply.

Great. Are you aware that you can test it now by doing a Demo?

Hi there,

fully tested the map last night and it functioned well, however its not correct, the tomtom one comes up with an error message, the current map does not contain truck attributes. truck routing can therefore not be supported, car routing will be applied, also the start up splash and shutdown splash do not work either, hoping for some support here if poss.

What map and what navcore are you using you need both TRUCK/WORK ones to get full features Europe_TRUCK_840_2554 is the latest TRUCK map

Hi there, yes I have map 840.2554 and navcore 8.395, I`ve now solved the problem of getting the map to work now through one of your guides, I inserted a config folder and then setconfig.txt and x30 works for me, only thing to try and get to work now is the start up splash screen and the suspend screen on turning off, although this is not a massive problem as I`m well happy that the map now fully works.

on the root of your GPS, do u have a file called splashw.bmp?

hi there it says splashw only and antitheftw do I need to change the name and put .bmp with them.

not now,,
just make sure your operating system is set to show file extensions,,,,

Hi there, checked that out and if I take the tick out they show up as splashw.bmp, I tried something first which was to put into the folder 2 different splash and antitheft which were named just splash.bmp and antitheft.bmp no W on either one and they work, so I took the w off the 2 truck one`s but they still don`t work, baffles me this does, but in the end I`ll just use the ordinary tomtom one splashes, unless you know whats going wrong, thanks for help by the way
