Hi my mum has a tomtom xl model 4ET03 with UK & Republic of Ireland maps, it is a few years old, how do I find which map I need to update it with.

Here is the result of the test with TomTom Current Configuration {13.11.2011}.

Go to the 910 map thread, download the UK 910.4892 map and use FastActivate to patch the Navcore and activate the map.
Follow the instructions provided within the map thread and it will work just fine.

9.510 is not an official navcore for a XL. This means that your 9.510 navcore is already patched & doesn't need repatching. Just patch the map.

I have downloded the United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland_910_4892 with Automatic Installer & Patcher maps from this link http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?12997-910-Map-Collections-only!. Befor I attempt to install it do I need anything else

Remove the old map folder. Run the 4892 installer per the instructions. After completion, check the new map folder for a .meta.dct file to confirm the installer patched the map. If so, disconnect & reboot.

Well what can I say, apart from a BIG thank you for all your help, I ran the installer as instructed once finished I had to copy the meta over, once I had done this, my mum's tomtom ran like a dream with its mew maps...once again thank you all for help.
