Tomtom via 110 stuck at splash screen...

Postby automobilklub » Wed Feb 13, 2013 8:03 pm

Hello. I have a tomtom via 110 which stuck at the boot logo (see pic). Bought it in this condition hoping to update/reload the software through MyTomtom but computer does not see it neither Mytomtom application does. Also have tried the reset/recovery method: also with no success-tomtom does not enter the recovery mode or the black configuration screen, no matter how long I hold the power button pressed for.
Battery is fully charged, there is no reset pin or memory card slot in case someone would ask.
Any ideas how to restore it to be useful again? It's in great condition and would be shame to throw it away...
Best regards to all

You might read this, although you probably already know about most of it.

Yeah, I'm familiar with all this, the problem is that I don't know the unit's history-was there unsuccessful update/hackig attempt or something else... Could the problem be internal memory chip loosing contact with the mainboard (cold solder joints)? I can try to reflow it...
Thanks

With reset not helping, no access to MyTomTom & no card slot, your options are bleak. My Team Mates may have an idea, that I haven't thought of, or a thought on soldering.

Check the official TT forum and their help section.
Was not for the VIA, but the new models in general but I saw a download for these stuck devices.
