tomtom via 1500 not showing as a removable drive on pc

Hi , i have recently changed my sat nav from an xl to a via 1500 , i have tried to update the map but the device wont show up in file explorer on my pc , the device connects to TOMTOM home fine but i need the drive to show up so i can replace the map.Can anyone help please? Cheers.

That is correct you only can buy a map via TomTom MyDrive Connect. In some country,s the via 1500 is sold with free Live Time maps. So Try it with help of MyDrive Connect and if you are lucky you have your map for free.

Thanks for the reply,tomtom home is trying to charge me for a map update-back to the Xl we go !!!

For the via 1500 you need MyDrive Connect and not TomTom Home.
