tomtom via 1505 loves circles (around the police)

I have a Via 1505 I've been using for a about 2 months now. I love the 5 inch screen compared to the old navigon I was using. but this thing is very undecided about when to make a turn, and which way it wants to go. Exits are mislabeled. All exits on loop 375 have the name Joe Battle blvd which is obviously wrong. Places like Museum of History is used as street name. Yesterday it told be to make a left turn from I-10 main lanes. then I was in a area where a sheriff was sitting. I took me 2 streets past him told me make a uturn (which it took a couple minutes to calculate) then took me just past him make a left then a right another right come back up to that road he was on then go past him again then make a right to leave the subdivision. while this cop is wondering what I was doing (I have nothing to hide but who wants to drive around the same cop 5 times till he decides we should have a chat).
It always waits till I am right beside the road I should turn on before saying make a left turn now. It frequently changes its mind during the route telling me to go staight for 5 miles then 2 blocks later make a left turn now. I sat at a traffic signal where it verbally said continue straight ahead but on the display showed make a immediate left. It should have been named DUM-DUM not Tom tom. I have called customer dis service twice and they have told me to update the software but mytomtom says there are no updates. The last one said make sure I use google chrome not internet explorer, but that made no difference. I did get a email yesterday morning about a supposed update but again mytomtom says no.

You are 1 of many, many members, who are not very happy with their new TomTom.

that is real encouraging. It seems that Tom Tom doesnt really care as long as they keep adding new victims. Is there a tom tom that is any good?

Nothing can compare to the GO 20, 30 & 40 series.

If you check the official TT support forum you get flooded by complaints and problems with the new devices.
But being a TT forum you have to be quick to read it - all unwanted posts are either deleted or simply never answered.
A few weeks agaon I came a cross a website where users are tryng to file a class action law suit against TT in regards to GPL breaches, misleading advertisement and for the fact that TT sells unfinnished products where all the testing must be done by users that paid a lot of money for the device.
Getting rid of the FAT system and creating a new filesystem is one thing taking over a year to give the user the most simple funktions he already had on an old ONE is a different story.
Why do you think there so many refurbished NC10 devices available on Ebay? Only because users that bought them used the warranty and known problems to get a refund for the crap ;)

By the way: got a VIA160 for testing last week, MyTT worked for a day and **** itself, since then I con not even connect the VIA to the PC without a bluescreen and systemcrash.
The drivermodifictions made by the MyTT install can't be reversed, TT offers no uninstaller and the official solution offered by TT : It is a problem with your Windows installation.
USB devices are not recognised correctly which is very common.
To fix your problem you need to restore your Windows installation.
This can be done by using a restor point or by reinstalling Windows.

I used my current setup for a year now with no problems, MyTT messed it up and TT blames Windows.
You find this problem using Google many many times even in the TT support forum - but not a single solution.
I did some more digging and found some of drivers involved. Removing the corresponding settings in the registry causes Win to fail to boot.
The only thing I wanted is to do some testing and playing around - I learned my lesson and can only say that IMHO MyTT and the NC10 devices at the current stage are a dying product theat I can't recommend to anyone....
