Hi, I was just wondering if we are any further on in trying to crack these new devices, I actually bought a via 110 as faulty off ebay to experiment with which was not working but after it was connected to the computer and My TomTom I was offered a free map off TomTom albeit an old one but it now works fine. So I am now waiting patiently for any one to come up with some ideas so I can experiment with it ie how to access the drive etc. I am no computer expert but I'm willing to do a bit of experimentation with it. Maybe there is a some program I can download to access the drive

The experts have been trying for over a year & NOBODY has made any progress at all.

I have a tomtom via 1535tm

Postby yasirfaheem » Sun Nov 27, 2011 11:49 pm

You have to go to [Please Register or Login to download file] and download MyTomTom app and install that on your computer. That app will let you download and install all the latest maps and updates for your device. In the box you all so get a promotional code. You have to call tech support at 866-486-6866 and give them your code and they can activate the code for you. I was told by the tech support that the server for activating the code online is having problems at the moment. But the tech support took care of it over the phone. Now i have life time maps and traffic for my device. I do not know why some one would want to hack this device you all ready get life time maps and life time traffic.

I have the same problem. Just purchased a TomTom Via Live 125 and it only came with a 1 year free traffic and Live Services subsciption. Only 1 free map update within 90 days of purchase. When plugging in with usb cable is not recognised as a portable drive, only through "My TomTom" application but still cannot see the drive. How is one supposed to back up? or change colour schemes or create a different start up image if you can't see the drive?
