TomTom XL 9.51, which map is suitable?

Postby caligula2015 » Sat Oct 03, 2015 5:30 pm

Hi,

I have some problems getting a new map on my TomTom XL.

I'm using actually the map Central Europe 8.50 but like to have the most actual Europe South map if possible as I need Spain together with France and Germany or any other map including at least Germany and France.

I tried up to now three maps:
Europe South 950.6548
Europe South 955.6746
Europe South 955.6805

None of them worked as my TomTom mentiones that these maps are not suitable for this model. Yes, I have seen at the grid picture of the maps that there is an info that these maps are only for One, Go and Rider but I tried anyhow. But which map is suitable for my device? Could you please help and give me an advise?

FastActivate shows this info:
DeviceName=TomTom XL
DeviceVersionHW=XL
DeviceSerialNumber=GJxxxxxxxxxx
BootLoaderVersion=10012
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9510
ApplicationVersion=1234792.103
CurrentMap=Central_Europe
CurrentMapVersion=850.2781
Size 1884MB, Free 389MB

Best regards

All of the maps you mentioned are compatible with navcore 9.510 and they also have meta data available so you should have no problems....

Did you patch the navcore?

Download the latest version of FastActivate and copy it to the root of your device, then select options 9, 2 & 3 and try again

I agree with fredderf.
Did you not forget to patch the navcore?
Did you restart your TT after installing NC 9,510 so that it could create a new ttgo.bif?

A new ttgo.bif file is not necessary for patching the map, if an old one, from the unit being updated, still exists.

Yes maybe, but I prefer it as it only takes a few seconds to do and the operator can be absolutely sure the metas are up to date.

Hi All,

it works now. Probably the problem was an already patched Navcore (Easy Activator).
I took the original one and then patched it and activated the map.

Thanks a lot.
