Hi,
at first this is my first time trying to give my GPS a new Software. So please exucse me, if my questions sounds stupid ;). And excuse my bad english too :P.
Im using a Falk N240L running WinCe 5.0.
Im using Multiscript & POIOBServer.
My TomTom Navcore is 7.916.9192 (already tried another version)
Maps: Europe_Central 900 4600
GPS: COM2 Baud:57600
My problem: TomTom cant find a constant GPS Signal. It gets GPS for a few seconds (the yellow/black dot is rotating) after 1-3 seconds it stops and says "No GPS device found" or "Are you inside of a building..?".
I'm using virtual comport manager and it gets a signal with the "test GPS" function & POIOBServer turns green. I tried using the virtual Port & the real Port with the TomTom software.
Do you have any hints or solutions?

Only one application can use GPS on Windows ce at any one time, there is no intermediate driver like on windows mobile.
If you have other software that uses the GPS port then conflicts will happen.
There is an application called port splitter that can help when the GPS port can't be found, it is usually bundled with Garmin xtce builds if you want to see how it's used

Thanks for your fast reply.
I think virtual com Port Manager is some kind of Port Splitter.
It doesn't even work if i deactivate it and any other Programs which uses the GPS port.

Have you tried TTN 7.450 and 7.910, these are the only two versions that work on Windows CE, the others usually crash with a "Not enough memory" error.
All Windows Mobile/CE versions operate the same way.

Okay, i just tried 7.450 & 7.910
Same problem with both versions.
If i get the "Not enough memory" Error, i just go to control panel -> system -> memory and than increase the allocated memory and its fixed ;).
If i use the Port Splitter, do i have to use the same baudrate in the tomtom software?

Welcome to the world of Windows CE error messages...
If the RAM is low you get a dialogue box asking to convert storage memory to RAM, The infamous "Not enough memory" error is a dll load failure, There is/was a page on MSDN about it, something to do with pre-allocating memory for dll's.
Did you try Portsplitter? Users with Garmin (which is notorious for not finding the GPS receiver) have success.
You can set it up manually to test, then automate it with Mortscript.
If all else fails, it just may be one of those devices...

Sorry, but i cant find a working version of portsplitter. Do you got a link for me? I even searched on russian sites (which i cant understand :D). The install always tells me that he cant find port splitter or one of its components.

This means a dll Portsplitter expects to find on the device is missing, It's a bit of a faff to find out which one.
I have no experience of this device, and there isn't much information about it.
Have you tried iGO8/Primo instead of Tomtom?
Secondly explain the procedure to unlock and run Tomtom

What choice you made as GPS receiver in the TomTom software ?
And witch choices you have for the com port ?

I already tried Automapa with the same problems like tomtom.
there wasnt rly much to do tu unlock it. I just downloaded it, copied to my sd card. Downloaded Maps and istalled it the the auto installer from this forum.
And after that i got an error, which was telling me the maps are not actived. So i used the "Fast Activator". And after everything was fine. Except the GPS ;).
@holyhaed:
I used the Virtual Com Port which i set up for my GPS
With deactivated port spiltter/ port manager i use COM2 which is called COM_GPS

Did you try using different baud rates?
Fri Feb 22, 2013 7:51 am
Without use of the portsplitter your settings are Other NMEA GPS receiver, 57600 baud and com_GPS

sorry for my late answer. My PC / Video Card crashed :(.
I tried every baudrate with every Port.
I tried to use 57600 baud and com_GPS
but still no success.

You can give the GPSSwitchToNMEA atry. Unpack and place it in your TomTom folder. Before you start TomTom activate GPSSwitchToNMEA.exe and after that TomTom.
