TomTom 7 on Windows CE6

Tue Nov 29, 2011 7:11 pm

Hello All,
My first post here so be gentle with me :-) I have installed a version of TomTom 7 on my Chinese sat nav running CE6
It seems to work mostly, but I can't change the Home location or the default planned route. I can input a route and it will calculate the route and get me there, but if I shut it down and restart, it goes back to the route I planned when I first installed the software. The TT software has been modified by Tabara Junior, I think. (sorry if I got your name wrong). The .exe file is
1.32 Mb I have a version of TT7, 7.910 running on my Binatone A430 which is CE5, the .exe file is 4.3 Mb and it works perfectly, but if I try to use this version on my Chinese satnav, I get a "not enough memory" error. Anyone had any luck getting this to work properly? My satnav came with iGO8 and it's absolute rubbish, like showing me to go straight across a roundabout and telling me to turn left !!!!

Thanks in advance,

Dave.

Unfortunately Tomtom does not work properly under WinCE 6, You are using one of the Tomtom bundles that use Mortscript to replace a config file with a pre-configured copy before Tomtom starts, This file contains the home location, Favourites and route information + others, This is why it reverts back to an earlier configuration after a restart.

Any attempt to bypass the overwriting of the config file results in the "Not enough memory" error, (Actually a dll load failure, Not a lack of memory.)

Did you look at iGO Primo 1.2?

Hello All,
Thanks for the very quick reply, Fatboyfun. I reckon I'm just going to buy another chinese satnav with CE5 on it, unless anyone is clever enough to tell me how to get CE5 onto my unit. I haven't looked at Primo 1.2. I will after writing this, but if it's anything like iGO8, then I won't be using it.

Thanks for your help,
Dave.

Hey whizzo944,

Just a suggestion but before buying another satnav why dont you try sygic if your not to keen on primo 1.2. I have Sygic 8.24 working fine on my wince 6 satnav and its very similar to the basic tomtom you get on wince5 satnav

Hello Huggy,
I am trying to get Sygic 8.24 to work. It loads up and then asks me to activate the map. I use the keygen and then it says I have successfully activated the map, then it goes to the main navigation screen and says "No maps loaded" I go to the menu and the "Maps" icon is greyed out. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Dave.
