I have told you twice, (point 3 in post 2 & point 2 in post 13) that you don't do anything with the meta code, it is included in fastactivate 1.8.9.0!!!!

Well I still have the original map saved and backed up. Than I downloaded the US map_885 and activated it. It worked. I than downloaded the new US_895 map, changed the meta file, Fastactivated it. It says this map cannot be used. But the activation was done successfully.

I did mistake by changing the meta. Anyways I can always go back since I have original backup. Thanks for the info.

My GPS: TOMTOM XXL

I applied this map: North_America_895_4437

and than used Fast active . It was patched with no error.

But when I boot my GPS I get this error:

""problem with map (you cannot use this map on this device: United_States-622""

United States 622 refers to the united States 895.4444 map.

North_America_895_4437 & United States 895.4444 are 2 entirely different maps!!!

You really don't bother reading what we are writing here, your question was answered by Tendriver already and I highlighted it again for you.
Please stop asking and start reading, if a 68 year old man can do it within 30 minutes I can't understand why you make is so hard to yourself....

I know I did use Fast Active to activate my map version 885. Downloaded 885 from different website.

But here I downloaded

and than Used Fast Activation but it is saying this usit cannot use this map. That is why I was asking so many times why it is not working. May be if I have to modify or do something to make it work. I am just trying to figure out how to make this work. Applying only the Fast activation not working for me.

FastActivate Premium 1.8.9.0 Updated 05.10.2012 has detailed instructions about how to use it correctly, for patching a map & navcore!!!!!

If you would not guess but read and follow our instructions you would have had a working device with the new map two days ago!
At this stage I sadly see only two possibilities:
a) you might have a general problem with reading and following instructions
b) you are trying to fool us as there is nothing complicated about the procedure

I suggest that you start fresh and by reading this thread several times from start to finnish.
Check the instructions given and your response to it.
After that decide to do it properly as instructed or go the easy way and buy your new map from TT ;)

FastActivate update 05.10.2012

Method 1:
1. Plug your tomtom device with the USB to your PC or card reader

2. Copy "FastActivate.exe" to your TomTom device ROOT directory for all product activation
(The keygen also works inside a map or voice directory also if needed)

3. Run "FastActivate.exe"

4. Done...

Method 2:
1. Plug your tomtom device with the USB to your PC or card reader

2. Run "FastActivate.exe" from desktop or any other place

3. Select tomtom drive letter when asked

4. Done...


MAP: United_States_2GB_4438



I simply downloaded the above map and applied the fast active tomtom root directory. But map cannot be used.

I am tech savvy. I followed exactly as above instruction. I was able to activate 885 with no problem but this 895 , cannot be activated for some reason. I tried two different version. 4438 and 4437. Both failed. :(

Ok. I was able to install 4438 successfully. I used the latest Fast Activation. My Fast Activation was old

That's why we we say: read and follow...
It clearly states in the map thread to use the current version of FA, so we have to assume that you used it from the start.
