Hi, I got the same problem. I did a backup of all files, and then, started to play with the device...

After uploading some maps, radars, I decided to get back the old configuration, I did a format, and copyied all the old files from backup. However, now, the touch screen is not working...

I don't think it's hardware problem, because when I touch the screen, I can select the icon/area, but I can't access the menus...

Any idea about that?

Hi!
Thanks for answering back, I am pretty new in this forum...

The model is:
DeviceName=TomTom XL
DeviceVersionHW=XL

Last week, I received this GPS, and started playing with it. First of all, I used TomTom Home, and the device stoppped working after getting the updates (I didn't know about that, I discovered it, reading in some internet foruns later on).

Then, somehow, I could configure it properly, downloading some interesting stuff (BBS Tools, EasyActivator). So I could add more maps (latest versions), and get a newer Navcore - at this time, everything was OK... I also performed a backup (copying all files via windows XP)...

But I got a situation when I decided to format the flash (via Windows XP) and tried to recover it, using my backup (I´ve made too much modifications, but decided to get back the last good config...)..

After that, GPS come up, but touch screen is not working properly, when tapping in the screen, we see the object being selected, but nothing happens...

The last good configuration (which is the same that I am uysing right now) is:
BootLoader version: 55274
Navcore version: 9151.605385.2
Map in use: Brazil_865_3246

Thanks in advance,
zepelim

You should never format your internal memory, deleting is more than enough.
Windows does not always use the right parameters and sektor addressing, that's why there is special software to format USB sticks and memory cards.
Your bootloader imho is incompatible too, at least for a normal old ONE XL, 5.5112 or 5.5128 are the latest bootloaders to safely use on those devices.
I assume you already noticed problems with the USB connection and file transfer to the device?
