Traffic Info

Postby vag1965 » Sat May 19, 2012 12:08 pm

Hello,

I have TT on both my Windows mobile smartphone (navcore 7.917 - map Western Europe 885_4058) and on a ONE New Edition (navcore 7.903 - map Western Europe 885_4058).
I would like, at least on one of those, to being able to have the Traffic Info.
Is it possible ?
Does anybody know how to do it ?

Thanks
VAG

Get a TMC receiver for your ONE.

I don't think the old TT version supports the Live services and even if so, you'd have to pay for them while a TMC receiver only has the cost of buying.

That's interesting !
Can you please be so kind as to give me a quick explanation on how it works ?
I had a look online and it seem that there are a few type of RDS TMC receivers out there that I could plug in my ONE. But don't you need a subscription anyway ? If you don't need a subscription how does it work then ?
I've also thought that it would have been easier to have the Traffic Info using the TT on my phone as I could sort of download the data through the internet....

Thanks for the help.

1. You want the all in one, TT car charger/traffic receiver
2. RDS TMC has always been free.

I second that and the combi charger/receiver is in use here and works just fine, not like the old V13 versions.

So, the combi (all-in-one) is the boy, is it ?
I've read somewhare that it is very difficult ot get the RDS to get signal and infos. Don't know if whoever it was was talking about a different device, perhaps the one you mention (old V13 ?).

Thanks
