Hi,

I've lost the instructions of what I need to keep and what I need to delete. I was wondering if someone here can let me know what I need to transfer over and what not to transfer over.

I have a legit TomTom XXL 540. I have updated it with new Aus maps. I shared this map on this site previously.

My mate has a non legit TomTom XXL540. I want to transfer all of my contents on his. I was advised there is a file I need to keep on my TomTom and not transfer onto his, Everything else on his needs to be deleted except for one file also. I do not know what the name of that file is.

Also do I need to run FastActivate on his TomTom ?

Any assistance on this would be welcome.

1. Actually you are going to keep ALL files & folders on your XXL & copy them to the other unit. The file, that you are referring to, is the mapsettings.cfg file in the map folder. Remove your mapsettings.cfg file & replace it with your mates mapsettings.cfg file. All of your .dct files are device specific & need to be deleted.
2. I wouldn't remove anything from the other XXL except the old map folder, then copy from yours to his, overwriting any common files.
3. Once you have completed the copy over, run FastActivate to patch the navcore & map, + recreate the .dct files that you deleted.

I meant to ask this question earlier, perhaps it's been posted before, with FastActivate, does it need to be installed in any particular Folder in TomTom?
