Create a A-B route & include a point where you know there is an active ALG display, then run it as a demo.

A good few miles from me before it would kick in, It's not a problem as nearly everywhere i go i have been before, I have given up delivering in Europe and that is where it is most helpfull, perhaps i will take it out with me tomorrow and see how it is.

Go to Main Menu, Prepare route, Depart from, Point on map: Create the Starting point (A) a few miles before the known active ALG display. Create the Ending point (B) a few miles past the ALG display. Run the demo.

Ok here goes but not much to tell,
It works fine with the 901.4683, nothing special, very similar to the previous navcore.
In the sub menus you get extra buttons for looking at your system etc same result as clicking bottom right of screen for that info,
Programming routes was same as last navcore and when recalculating new route, either from start or when you deviate from set route i thought it was slightly quicker, but that may be my imagination.
As daf asked the question about lane guidance yep it works fine.
The new map is as good as any and browsing through it there have been a few road changes but nothing major i could see.:(

This is a question for TT Support or the Fleet Managers that this pre-release was offered to.(tendriver answered)

So the smartwork button must be for the fleet managers to have a say,can only surmise that it's a bit like a Navman system we had at work, they could track you and send messages to you and you could reply.

So from my point of view not much has changed ......except their is that new bit of software that will help noobs (and me) get up and running in no time.

Also thanks to Maverick1968 for getting the navcore so early in its life:D

short but not alot to tell really, hope it helps.

I can confirm lane guidance is working, I did not go far today as there's not a lot happening at work at the moment but, it all looks good and worked fine when i used it. When i do get a good run i can try it out better.

THANX!!

I only replaces in "internal" the navcore 83... for 97...and did nothing more, and works in the perfection, with the map 901...that was already on the sd card.
nothing more... nor used fast activate - TTGo630 with height 17

Ok, I tried this out yesterday on a run where i go very often. It was nagging me to come off at a few junctions for about 10 miles until it give up and decided to go the way i wanted to go.

I will explain more.
I go on a regular run, satnav wants to take me a route which is about 6 miles shorter but more liable for hold ups with traffic. so i go the slightly longer route. After passing the junction for the shorter route it normaly recalculates to the route i like going but with this new navcore it wanted to take me off at every junction and turn me around. Of course i never listened to it.

Apart from that it worked well but if i was in an area i didnt know or was in two minds about the route i wanted then i would need to know in my own mind the route i want insrtead of relying on satnav.

Hope this is not confusing as i'm not very good explaining things.

How do you have Main Menu, Change preferences, Planning preferences set up?

Any GPS on the market is only as good as the data it works with.
TT for example uses historic traffic data in their maps, so it can and will happen that for the same trip you get different routes depending on the time of day.
Also without a traffic receiver (and suitable data for it sent over the radio) the TT will never know about any additional delays, works and so on.
Routes are calculated on the base of average speeds on the roads that system is called IQ Routes.

The options for your I see:
a) don't use a GPS if you know the route better
b) block unwanted parts of the calculated route
c) check post #24 and report back, also try different settings and report what works best for your case

And keep in mind if a truck or big delivery van is set up, you won't get the same route like you get for a car - not only restrictions are considered, also narrow roads, parking on the road and sharp turns ;)

I don't have a traffic receiver & have gotten, while enroute, suggested re-routes several times due to traffic congestion or road work delays.

Change Preferences, Planning Prerferences, Replanning Preferences, "If the traffic situation changes and we discover a significantly faster route:"

I have both my satnavs set up the same way, Only ever use the satnav in the truck. Everything exactly the same but from the different navcore.

I did use the latest map today and only once did it want to take me a slightly different route in to Ayelsbury, but as there are signs for all through routes and i know the way i diverted, apart from that it was the same but this was using 839 navcore.

I never put in avoids or anything like that, its a case of turning on, entering postcode and off to go. Don't need to spend half the day entering different things, defeats the use of satnav. If you use common sense when on route then all will be well.

I only reported back as it was asked in the thread to report what we think, This is not a moan about anything just constructive report.

What i would do without you guys on this forum i don't know so keep up the good work.
