tt7_keygen vs autoactivate + need help with South_Africa_Swaziland_and_Lesotho map!

Postby jaybeegee » Wed Feb 22, 2012 7:34 pm

Hello All! Without wanting to appear that I am advertising tt7_keygen I find it is such a much simpler way for noobs like me for getting TT maps to work on my pda (HTC trinity with tomtom v7.45) than using the autoactivate even though the tutorial spells out the process!

tt7_keygen is a simple one line command run on the local drive "tt7_keygen.exe [MAP NAME HERE] [device Id here]" and you just copy the map directory on the sd card's root!

I have yet to figure out the autoactivate but it seems that I might be forced to because I cannot manage to get the maps for " South_Africa_Swaziland_and_Lesotho" to work! Any ideas what i might be doing wrong? I have no issues with any other maps!!!
tks

What could be easier than just running an exe file?

Also what error message are you getting from Tomtom?

If you are referring to "South_Africa_Swaziland_and_Lesotho 885.4087 or 4088", the meta codes for them have not been posted yet & they can't be patched at this time. The All New Maps 885.XXXX thread has a big red warning with the download instructions in posts 1 & 2.

I was referring to the South_Africa_Swaziland_and_Lesotho_860_3108 version - is it not doable?

Why a map that old?

Until the 885s are usable, I would use South Africa Swaziland and Lesotho 880.3822 , if your navcore is 8.2XX or higher. If not, then South Africa Swaziland and Lesotho 880.3823.

No actually the maps I am trying to is "South_Africa_Swaziland_and_Lesotho_860_3108"

I am not getting any error, tt7_keygen gives an OK but the maps are not found.

any ideas if this version of the map works with autoactivate?

All Maps 880.XXXX

Confirm that you have a patched navcore.

If you've previously activated maps for this device and they've worked, then it's already patched.

Just a quick msg to let you know that I have managed to get the AFRICA map to work on my HTC running TT7.45

For some reason my beloved ttkeygen utility failed but the fast activate did the job! gosh that's a neat tool and easy to use!

cheers!
