You don't unlock TomToms, but go ahead with your question.

Hi and Thanks,

I have given myself a huge education over the past few days about easyusetools, meta files, DCT, etc.

Am I correct in thinking that if I can "unlock" the 720, I can add features?

Thanks Again...Tom

I repeat, you don't unlock TomToms. What features are you looking for?

Hi,

This all came about as a way to avoid paying $80+ to upgrade our maps. So, we are trying to load some maps.

This may be part of my problem. I have followed a bunch of steps and it all looks like I should have success but must be missing something.

Thanks

What navcore & map did you have? What did you attempt to do? How did you attempt to do it? What do you have now? What do you want to end up with?

Hi,

If Navcore is the application then we have 8.351. Our current map is North_America 2GB. The other map is USA_Canada_Mexico 855.2934

Not sure what I want to end up with. Our current map is out of date but only a bit of an inconvenience. This is more about curiosity/education than anything at this point. Been trying utilities such as easyusetools etc.

Thanks

as you are new to all this i will direct you to our navcore Auto installers, install 9.205 to your device from here http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?2831-TomTom-Automatic-Navcore-Installation

Then when you have completed all the steps that comes with installing the navcore above you need to choose the map that suits you best, we have a very easy to read chart in post #1 of each map topic, here you can see what map features comes with what map ect. (Fully featured maps are the obvious choice for a 720 if they are available) v 860 maps are current ;)

Download your map then when copied to your device/sd run the file witch will already be installed on your device with the navcore auto installer, called AutoActivate.exe , this will patch your map automaticlly (pending the meta is available already)

Done

If you use the AutoInstaller above, you can delete the Outsourced folder & Switchfiles.zip. They are for small screen units, & your 720 doesn't need them.

The TT Team sez, "You are Welcome. Enjoy".

Did you load one of these?

North_America 2GB 860.3101 [1645.7MB]

United_States 2GB 860.3101 [1503.7MB]

USA and Mexico 860.3101 [1665.6MB]

OK, keep in mind that manual installation is nothing more than removing the old map folder, then copying in the new map folder & patching the new.

Hi,

For the autoloader, do I need to use the autoactivate.exe or anything? Is it as simple as downloading the mapfiles (with autoloader) and then running it?

Thanks
