OK, we are talking about a single map. You only have 20 MB left to download?
Sun Sep 05, 2010 9:40 pm
yes, but ie8 froze before i could complete the download, which will now mean that i will have to restart the download. The thing is mate that the hosting site he's using is very slow...mediafire or rapidshare is extremely fast...or even better a torrent file will allow me to resume downloading if i lost the net connection.

Both the navcore & map are on the internal? I don't understand " it shows the 3d map".

To fix freezing / reebooting issues a hard reset followd by the tomtom clear flash tool can help sometimes
- Hold reset button for 30 seconds
- Hold on/off button for 5 seconds untill the black config screen shows
- Press reset button 1ce
- Turn on as normall
- Run the clear flash tool 3 times, (Link to download this in my sig)

morning guys...last night i managed to download the UK ROI 855_2884 maps, but i had to use the XXXXXX forum to download them. Anyway i deleted the old maps folder from the root of TT and replaced it with the new maps folder. I then ran the AutoActivate which patched the maps.
After this i rebooted the TT, but i'm still getting the same problem, where the TT is freezing and after a few seconds reboots.
Have i messed the TT up? What should i do now?

Ok start the install again but this time delite everything from the drive first so you have a fresh new drive to install on, you might have a file left over from the last navcore causing a problem.

Correct just the internal, but make shure you have a backup first.

thanks DJC.
As requested, i did the following:-
1. Made a full backup
2. Formatted the TT internal memory (Fat32)
3. Extracted all the contents of 9.205.rider3.CAB-navcore-RIDER.cab to the root.
4. This time rather than simply copying PNDNavigator and TTSystem files, I extracted all the contents of X_ttsystem.9.205.547817.1.rar to the root
5. I copied the whole UK Maps folder 855_2884 (downloaded from XXXXXXX link) to the root
6. Copied AutoActivate and ran it, but this is when i got an error, saying ttgo.bif or ttnavigator.bif were missing, so i went into my old backup and only found ttgo.bif and copied it to the root and re-ran AutoActivate and this time it worked and installed the necessary patch from the net
Unfortunately after booting the TT, i still got to the main maps screen, where it froze and rebooted.

Ok seems you done good, so if the problem is still there 9.205 must have problems with your device, so please try a diffrent navcore 9.103 is a good choice. follow the same steps with 9.103 , also there was no need to format this can lower the life of your devices internal memory, just a delite would have workd

Had to edit your post, please dont talk about other forums on here
thanks
You can find all the latest navcores here
http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?907-Latest-Navcores You can use wich ever you like but for a 520 it should be ok with the newer ones so now as 9.205 is not working id recomend 9.103, but it really is your choice there is no real diffrence in any of the v9 navcores that you will notice cosmeticlly, follow my instructions to install and you will be fine wich ever you choose
BTW , before you change navcore remove this file from your map folder "mapsettings.cfg" and put it in a safe place on your pc, then boot up your unit and see if your unit reeboots now ?? if it does not that file is your problem

You got this error because you did a clean install. Your device creates a ttgo.bif file & a ttnavigator file, if a PNDNavigator file is present, each time you boot your device. All that was needed was a boot, before you ran the patcher.
