BTW , before you change navcore remove this file from your map folder "mapsettings.cfg" and put it in a safe place on your pc, then boot up your unit and see if your unit reeboots now ?? if it does not that file is your problem ;)

I went into the TT internal memory\United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland and there is no such file in there called "mapsettings.cfg"???? So where shall i get this file from?

PS: I used the mapsettings.cfg from my old TT backup and rebooted, but it still does the same thing :(

Your 520 creates it as you set it up with items like your home address, etc. It will be in your OLD map folder.

thanks tendriver mate.

I did that, but still get the same problem. One thing i must add is that the 3 options at the bottom of screen, such as volume, map, route function fine, but as soon as i touch the main map area, thats the only time the TT reboots. Could it be because i've used the old ttgo.bif??? Or is it something else?

This sounds like a flash memory releated problem, have you tried the tomtom clear flash tool , you may need to run this up to 3 times to see results.

@ djc - i tried that previously, but it didn't resolve the issue.

@ pietu - the only option on the bottom-right is the "route planner" - no option for checking memory

As redband said if you are missing the files download this archive here [Please Register or Login to download file] change the .xpi to .zip and extract and the files with data in filename are in there, but i am running 9.205 and i only got 8 of these files so you might only have 8, but you can try and copy the 11 data files from the link above as it might help.

redband your a star mate!!!! That was the problem all along! lol

The TT is now working perfectly, but DJC and Tendriver...since it was extremly slow, i thought that must be due to the navcore 9.205 taking too much ram, so i decided to use my own initiative and downgrade to the more ram friendly 9.051 navcore. All being well, it is now running perfectly and smoothly with on 9.051 with 24.5mb free, although its now showing as TOMTOM GO 950??? Is that okay? .

@ DJC - I hope you don't mind if i can give you some feedback about the problems i had mate. The "Easy Share" hosting site for your files is a big problem mate, as not only do you have to wait a long for the timer, as well as its very slow speed (less than 40kb/s) and sometimes even more slower. Can i recommend if you can change that to "mediafire"?? The reason is because mediafire has no time limit and anyone can d/l unlimited links.

Okay, now that i've got what i want, my next task is to add voices, latest cameras, fuel and any other things that can make a massive difference :)

I look forward to your help and thank you once again to everyone!

Good job on getting it up and running ;) , There is a reason to why i use easy-share, Free hosts contuinue to search links and delite pirated material, and after countless testing with diffrent hosts using easy-share.com along with protect-my-links.com is the best combination and i have not had any of my stuff delited as of yet, as uploading the same stuff over and over again gets a bit reppetitive as i got a lot of files hosted as i am shure you can understand, if you request something in specific i will upload it just for you ;)

When you goto STATUS&INFORMATION>VERSION INFORMATION, at the top-left corner, it says "TomTom GO 950". Also when i get the "TomTom Tip", I get some text in there saying "Your Tomtom GO 950 locates satellite blah blah", but otherwise everything seems to be in working order.
