About IQ routes go to
Mainmenu
Change preferences
Preference 4 of 6
Planning preference
By planning reference you can tick IQ Routes.
Route calculation with IQ Routes is much longer then without.
So personal I don,t use it.

4) Run TomTom Home. Depending on your model, if Home asks you whether to use internal memory or the card, select the card.

5) Go to updates and download the latest navcore. Restart TomTom Home and run updates several times until no more updates are available.

One last question.
For future update. I will have to wait:
- Updated Navcore Cherry,
- The map,
- and meta code find.

That's it ?

Links to other forums is forbidden so I've removed it, however, to answer your question:

The official navcore for your device is NC 8.010 so that is what TT Home will always offer you...but this is very limiting.
Holyhead has given you NC 9.510 which is a lot newer & specially modified to boost your lowly internal RAM so you can use all of the fully featured maps and their advanced features like IQ Routes & ALG etc...there is more information on that here

There won't be any more updates for that so in the future so you should only concern yourself with updated maps.

holyhead wrote:With navcore 8.010 you can,t use France 995.8549 becourse there is no meta code for it.
Advice was France 995.8507 but then you need navcore 9510.

So start again and only via the forum I don,t work with PM

Backup the XL

1) Use NavCore 9.510_DSA_For 32Mb_ram_Voice+UK and unpack it (winrar o.i.d)
http://www8.zippyshare.com/v/Ox773x4h/file.html
and place the files and folders on the XL.
2) Reset the device (at least 15 sec) and then run it till the notice "No map found"
3) Use France 995.8507
http://www.navitotal.com/noref.php?url=http://relink.to/f/0c470ad579cdaddaa814932b0cedf4
Unpack it and
Copy the new map to the XL in its own folder. You can remove the Cspeech file from the map.
When you open the map you see the individual files.
Not a map in a map.
4) Copy "FastActivate.exe" to your SD Card root.
Run "FastActivate.exe".
Select 2
http://www.navitotal.com/viewtopic.php?f=127&t=19452
5) Reset the device (at least 15 sec)
Done

We like to hear the result good or bad.

You are really the best, :023: :023: This tutorial and navcore also worked for me to install Europe_Central_995_8507
on my One Xl V9
Thank you very very much, Greetings from the Netherlands :024:

Holyhead has given you the best navcore you can get for your device, it's very unlikely that it will ever need updating again...so now is a good time to do a backup

The maps can continue to be updated...there are 4 x new map releases a year

Hello Navitotal, thanks for the great webpage and support.
Yesterday evening/night i have been breaking my head over updating maps on my fathers TOMTOM one XL, the same as the original poster.
Im using Central_Europe_995_8507 which has the meta available (Central_Europe-101256) however when I want to patch the maps with the fastacvivate it gives me the .dct error.

I also tried running the installer, but when booting the Tomtom, it says it cannot run the maps.

Can anyone help me out here? I have been following the tutorial above only giving me the .dct error :(

Central_Europe has no meta code so this can,t be used.
First look of the map you going to use has a meta code if no downloading is a waist of time.
So read carefully.

viewtopic.php?f=179&t=20078
Those meta codes are already integrated in FastAktivate this means don,t editing only use FastAktivate.

You need Europe Central 995 8507

63 74 2B BC 1E B6 3D DB A4 72 9C 4E D8 E7 7F 45 Europe_Central-101256.meta ; Europe_Central 995_8507

That one i put in the "Updated_meta" file in the root but still, gives the error...

I choose this map because this topic stated it had the meta available and was working for other users.

Are you sure everything is in the Root ?
Don't mix up Central Europe with Europe Central, both are different.
Sure your information is right, mine is working too with this map.
Be sure the map is in his own folder, not a sub folder and no spaces or fancy characters in the name are allowed, only an underscore.
Latest Fastactivate must be from 23-08-2017 23:00 H

Tnx for the quick reply guys, still working on this as we speak.
Please check with me. For the installer I optained this on "Central Europe 995.8507_Installer" So it should already have a intergrated meta right? this one should need any tools, correct?

anyways I also got only the maps: Central_Europe_995_8507 using the meta above. Also im using the following tools Central_Europe_995_8507 and rider nc 9.510installer1.1 (naccore 9.510 32MB)

Both ways don't work well for me, so I most be doing something wrong during the proces. maybe I should start back at step one. Start with an empty SD?
