I'm newbee :D

I have got a Renault Scenic with Tomtom Carminat with :

Application : 8.842
Boot : 8.0054
Map : "Europe" v880.3865

It's very old map.

How can I update the carminat? Which files should I download please?

What to do?
~~~~~~~~~~~
0) Put a new sd-card in your Radio/Carminat and let create the folder "loopdir"

1) Extract "NC_8842_Full_Complete_Install_yDGpatch.zip" and copy folders and files to your sd-card.
Download
[Please Register or Login to download file]

2) Make a "ttgo.bif" file. Copie this file to the root SD Card
Create a text file with notepad called ttgo.bif (NOT ttgo.bif.txt) in the root directory of your sd card
and inside put these lines:
DeviceName=Carminat TomTom
DeviceUniqueID=XXXXXXXXXX (Your Unique Device ID with no spaces)
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8842 (Your Current navcore version, this is the latest official)

How to get your device ID
Open Tom-Tom Home with your old set up engaged, and take note of your Device ID
Help > System Information > Device Code > XXXXXXXXXX

DeviceName=Carminat TomTom
DeviceUniqueID=AKTPZBAFQ2
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8842

3) Use map Europe 990.8316

Unpack it and Copy the new map to your SD card in its own folder.
When you open the map you see the individual files.
Not a map in a map.
4) Download FastAktivate, unpack (Temporarily set your virus scanner off)
viewtopic.php?f=127&t=19452
Copy "FastActivate.exe" to your SD Card root.
Run "FastActivate.exe".
   Select 2.

Done

Virusscanner on again.

No you can only use this navcore.

I did all the stepps as written in Post Number 2 but received an error: I can't use this map on this navigationsystem.
My car is an Renault Scenic 2.0 16v from 2011

On the original sdcard:
Appl, 9.884.160031.550
Boot. 83.9378

Plz can someone help?

You have navcore 9.884 and this means that you can only buy a new map. Alternative mapupdates are only possible on old sysyems with navcore 8.842.

That means that Navcore 8.842 on a new sdcard is not possible??
