Update TomTom One

Postby userbb » Thu Sep 02, 2010 1:48 am

I've got an older TomTom One device from a friend and I would like to update this device to the latest navcore and map. I found the version number below:

App 6.501 7460/060904 OS:1343
GPS v1.21 Boot 4.81
West Europa v660.1256

What do I have to do to got it work ?
Where can I find the device type One classic, One v1, One v2 ?
Which version do I have to download and how to install ?
Is it possible to install the navcore and maps on a clean SD card with more memory capacity ?

Please can somebody help me ?

I'm a newbee in TomTom devices, so please explane for dummies !

Thanks in advance.

The model number at the bottom shows TomTom One (4N00.004.2) but this not the way it is listed anywhere.

You are correct. This "number" is not used in day to day ops, but it helps us to help you.

http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?1001-TomTom-v850-Maps

You can use eg. 850.2782 / 850.2783 / 850.2792 / 855.2931 / 855.2957 with this navcore

how much you have free space sd-card after you remove old maps ??? and what map you want..

make the first working configuration at the original navcore...

I think I'll buy a new SD 2 Gb card and download and and copy and install the europe map.
Someone told me I can only use until 2 Gb cards with this device, is this true ?
