1.
first check your bootloader
Checking bootloader (the only reliable method)
Enter a device reset 15 sec.
Then turn on the device and hold the start button until you
get info screen. Which bootloader is there.
2.
How big is the SD card you use for the Rider.

1) Format the SD card Fat32 once slowly. If it's a new card then you can skip this.
2) Use NavCore 9500 Rider (3 icons)_Dutch_UK_Frans and unpack it (winrar o.i.d)
[Please Register or Login to download file]
and place the files and folders on the SD card.
Insert SD Card in the device.
3) Reset the device (at least 15 sec) and then run it till the notice "No map found"
4) Use France 995.8510
[Please Register or Login to download file]
Unpack it and
Copy the new map to your SD card in its own folder.
When you open the map you see the individual files.
Not a map in a map.
5) Copy "FastActivate.exe" to your SD Card root.
Run "FastActivate.exe".
Select 2
viewtopic.php?f=127&t=19452
6) SD card in the device. Reset the device (at least 15 sec)
Done

We like to hear the result good or bad.

The NavCore 9500 does not work on the Tomtom Rider V1
The last NavCore for this device is the 7.901 with the bootloader 5.5012

Yes, I have already tried it on another RiderV1 in past and I asked the question on specialized forums.
On the first Rider (RiderV1) it's impossible to use a NavCore up to 7.901
It seems to me that there are maps with fastActivate.exe for RiderV1 navcore 7.901 but I did not find.

Minimal I expect that you have tried it.

The latest map for the navcore 9500
is France 995.8510.
That map can,t be used with navcore 7.901 but
if you use navcore 9500 you can use it. so that is the
reason that I said navcore 9500. Honderd of people has
upgraded their Rider 1 with navcore 9500
(that is been used for the Rider 5) and it works fine. Instead
of 48 waypoints, you can use 99 waypoints.

I can,t find a usable map of France for navcore 7.901
I have gone back for 15 months.

So try the procedure mentioned in post 12 exactly and tell me where it go,s wrong.

Just a question:

When you write: "Reset the device (at least 15 sec)"

What that means? It's only turn off the device, wait 15 sec, and turn on the device?
