Updated TT V1 (first release type)

Postby Dunston » Mon May 02, 2011 5:21 am

I updated my old TT V1 the first release one, with the N8.544.1838_-_ONE_V8 Navcore, put the newUK and ROI maps on, and used the autoactivate, and patched the TT Home, the unit is still stuck on the boot screen, NUT and this is what I cant get my head round, if I connect it to the PC and use TT Home, I can see and use the map installed, when it loads up it tells me the map is up to date.

so what have i done wrong??

Maybe wrong navcore?

Or something else.

any help please would be great.

I also have a bucket load of saved favourites that I dearly would love to keep.

Thank you any one who can help.

I have the exact same model as yours and I have found the 8.544 navcore to be problematic. My suggestion is to install the 8.562 SE navcore. My ONE v1 now performs superfast in all areas, including switching menus and calculating routes.

Thanks for the info Lemoni, I have managed to get it to work. I deleted the MapSettings.cfg and it now works, sadly my favs are gone, but as i had most of my POI setup as locations all was good in the end. I have noticed that it is a bit slower, so I will try out your suggestion.

regards
Dunston

There are tutorials available for the rebooting problem and how to keep your favourites...

Sorry Sir!

I had done so already. And after NOT having found the answer and, as a newbie I did not think it would be frowned upon to ask questions, but your reply begs to differ.

I will refrain from asking further questions.

I see nothing in Downunder's post 4 that indicates it is "frowned upon" to ask questions.

I was only refering to the tutorials as I was under the impression you still have your backup on the PC.
The mapsettings.cfg from there could be used (with the tutorial) to get your favourites back.
Only thing I know that could cause a problem is if you use a complete different map than before, but even than it should work if you use the trick with Home.
