Postby turk » Tue Oct 08, 2013 3:21 am

Trying to update current map. Have downloaded USA and Canada map
915.5074 and extracted files. Will put Map on new SD card.
Should I copy all files presently on SD card except Map and then run Automatic Installer and patcher with new SD card in computer?
Here is present SD configuration:

1. Good idea!!
2. Good choice based on your location.
3. Why use a SD card?
4. I would forget the card. Remove the 895.4438 map folder from the internal memory. Copy the US&C 915.5074 map folder, that you have already downloaded, into the 720 internal memory. Patch the map with FastActivate Latest Update option 2.
If 9.510 is not already patched, download 9.510 SE ttsystem.rar Patch 9.510 by copying the ttsystem file in this .rar to the internal memory, overwriting the current ttsystem file. In the .rar there is also a model.txt file, with the usage explained in the "Please read first.txt" file. To use it or not is up to you.
You are done. Disconnect & reboot.

Thanks for your help.
A few further questions
1) Is Fast activate preferable to use over the automatic activator and patcher?
2)Will TMC still work with this setup?
3)Will 9.510 SE give added functions or features?

1. The latest version of FA is always recommended as, especially for early posted installers, the version inside the installer might not be containing the meta code.
2. TMC is uneffected by patching and only needs a TMC receiver.
3. You can choose different emulations and that's it. Meant for devices that could not use the Navcore otherwise too.

In addition to Downunder's answers
1. Keep in mind that 9.510 is the current navcore for your 720.
2. SE 9.510 set to emu X40 or X50 gives you Voice Command & Control & a much better looking menu.
