Updating Tomtom One

Postby Denden978 » Thu Apr 06, 2017 4:08 pm

Hi,

I want to try to update a Tomtom One (4EE0.001.02) The maps are old and 1 GB. Bootloader is 8.041 32MB RAM.
What adjustments do i need to make? I want to replace the Western Europe 1Gb map for a recent one.

Maps have grown a lot in size since your old map so the new version of that map is now 1.19GB which won't fit on your device.

Have a look at this post to see what maps are available...then see if your chosen map has a meta code released here before downloading it.

There is also a tutorial here

Thanks!

I've installed a new Europe Central 985_8211 map. It was a bit too big but i replaced the poi.dat with the poi.dat from BNL. Removed a few voices and it fits!

Thanks a lot!!

I noticed that it became quite slower when in use. Did i do something wrong? I ran Fastactive as an admin and use point 1 2 and 3. I also added some Safety CAms. Free space on device is now about 80mb. Internal RAM 32 MB(available 4.1)

No, a 985.8211 map has no extra features in it at all so it will have no effect on how fast the device is.

Only having 4MB left of free RAM means you will need to turn off as many POI's off as possible to free up some RAM...you should only turn them on when needed.
