Urgent help please on go520 and installing truck

Hi all,

I have just brought on behalf of a friend a go520 with truck installed,

ok i needed to add some more poi's we use for work as this is a friend from work who is having this 520 for xmas off his misses, i connected to my pc and clicked update as i do everytime i reinstall latest truck map on my go720, it updated the application to 8.398 now it will not boot past the truck splash screen and keeps reseting itself to do it all over again,

i have tried reinstalling the 8.396 truck navcore and 880 truck map on my spare sd card but can't get that to boot up past splash screen either, both internal uk map and sd card truck maps are not official as you can guess so really need to know what i'm doing wrong as i can't get hold of the member i got this off and really need to get this sorted so my mates misses can come and collect it ready to wrap for xmas,

so really appreciate any super fast help i can get here please.

just to add i have now got it to boot to the terms and conditions screen etc i agree, but it seems the i agree button is not calibrated to the text button itself and you have to press above it now, but without the sd card in the button for the uk map is bang on, once it accepts etc it goes the map choice uk or truck, i can't accept either of these so guessing the calibration must be out on this too and way off screen etc.

the uk map works fine and locks on to the gps fine,
all issues are when you insert the sd card.

please help if you can so i know where i'm going wrong

Did you remember to patch the new 8.398 navcore?

i'm about to check it again but i'm sure i did, can't understand why the i agree button would be out of area to it's writing etc same as not being able to accept the truck map or the uk map choice, i'm guessing if i can sort this issue it may boot through to the map ok

checked and says patched already, can't get past the Europe TRUCK and United Kingdom and republic of ireland selection, no way of selecting anywhere on the screen, even removed sd card and done a factory reset and tried again but still the same.

any ideas????????

deleted card again and added 8.396 and placed in 520 started up to get tomtom logo on screen, sticks on the logo and then resets itself, took card out and put in card reader so tomtom home starts up, then updated to 8.398, again placed in 520 and turned on again, waited till 520 reset itself and took card out, then put back in card reader, now adding previous map to truck 880 to see if that works etc. once map added i will use fast activate to update meta etc and patch system etc.

Let's take a deep breath & back up just a bit. Just to be clear, what navcore & map are currently on the 520 internal? What navcore & map are on the card? It is almost impossible for me to help you when you make changes without coordinating them between us.

ok it appears the touch screen is very much out of calibration etc, i managed to select the truck map by slecting somewhere below the uk map by chance, then in every menu i have to select the upper icon to hightlight the lower icon i need to setup, but now stuck on voice slection,

is this a normal issue or is it a navcore issue?

please help time is running out and may have to give her her money back and be lumbered with this paperweight.

internal navcore = 9.150.554646.2 / internal map = uk ireland 880_3810 boot 5.5120

sdcard navcore = 8.396 truck updated via tomtom home to 8.398 / map 880_3845

OK, let's work with the card only!! You need 4 things on the card. Navcore, map, FastActivate Premium & a copy of the devices ttgo.bif.

ok mate, navcore went on first, inserted in device and turned on, so no have ttgo.bif on card too, fast activate premium now on and 880_3845 map is copying onto card as we speak.

8.396 only and not updated in home is that ok

It's OK for now. BTW we never update a navcore with TT Home.

ok got that, always worked on my 720 but will not do it home again. so what now mate

Once everything is loaded, run FastActivate Premium buttons 2 & 3, one at a time.
