I am trying to patch USA_Canada_Mexico_P_4097 map for my GO 930 running 9.400.
I keep on getting error "cannot use this map". I did run the FA toolstep 1 and 2). I checked the map folder and there is no *.dct file. Anything I am missing.

Have you checked the map thread?
It makes sense to check for the meta codes before installing a new map - if there are no codes than you can not activate the map ;)

I checked the USA_Canada_Mexico_P_4097 map & can confirm that Downunder's answer is spot on. The meta code for this map hasn't been posted yet.

Sorry I missed it. I thought maps are posted after the meta codes are available.

Maps should NOT be posted without the Meta Code. makes no sense

Thank you for your comments. It is done this way for a reason. If it causes you problems, then I apologize.
BTW, your unit is not useless. Just reinstall your old map until the meta for your new map is posted

no need to apologize, I was just frustrated until I figured out the whole Meta code situation. I am re-installing the old 880 map now
