Help!
I have a Tomtom Start (Start 1 I think?) bought in Australia and assumed that i could use it in the States if i get the right Navcore, patch it and then add the right map. But I get the message : "You cannot use this map on this device".

As one poster suggested in a sticky, I used Tomtom Home to update the Navcore to the newest version and went from there (updated to 9.057. I had been using a patched 9.053 and aussie map before quite happily). I then downloaded the newest North Am map (North_America_2GB_870_3420) and inserted the folder directly into the root of the device and then used autoActivate.

This is what i see when i use TTCurrentConfig:

Can anyone please help? i am in the States with a fair bit of driving to do and keep getting lost!
Is it possible to use a US map on an Aussie device?
Should i have stuck with the 9.053 navcore? i think I may have lost that now.
When I downloaded the three parts of the map, extracting part 1 seemed to be self-extracting all three parts(?) Maybe it didn't work? See attached bitmap.

If you already used a 9.053 with the device it is most likely that either your Navcore is not patched or the map is not activated correctly.
Use the current version of FastActivate Premium and patch the Navcore after that activate the map.

1. It appears that don't you don't have a complete map. There appear to be files/folders missing. The 3420 map folder should be around 1.47GB, if it is complete.
2. A patched map will have a .meta file & a meta.dct file in the map folder. Your NA 870.3420 map does not have the .meta.dct file, therefore it is not patched.

Thanks guys. Yes Tendriver you were right, i hadn't clicked the buttion to patch the .meta. The instructions said just 'run the FastActivate.exe' so i thought it was done.
