Hi,
After so much tweaking and troubleshooting, I finally managed to get my problem of losing sound halfway through a journey from a point where particular lane images are shown solved.
Thinking it could well be a problem with the map I've downloaded another version of map but it didn't work. This was my first attempt. Then I changed the voices, deleted old voices from the SD card and replaced them with new ones but the problem was the same. I've disabled lane image instructions from voice options and disabled showing lane images under Advanced options too. Still no luck. Enabled them again and it was the same.
Then I've downloaded another SE version of navcore 9 and installed it on the SD card. It was still the same. Last Monday, when I went somewhere else all of a sudden the sound was working right throughout the journey with several lane images showing up. But as soon as I came across a particular region and when lane images came up on the screen I lost all sounds whatsoever halfway through my journey.
I really was wondering where the problem could as I've changed voices, maps and the OS too and played with various settings. Changing switch files didn't help either with various emulations.
Finally yesterday I reloded the SD card with a patched navcore version 8.010. Then reinstalled the SE Navcore version over it overwriting all the files when it prompted. I then connected the device to TT Home and operated the device and ran a demo on the route where I lose sound half way through.
From my experience in the past, sometimes when you load a new map onto the card, TT restarts when you go to navigate to an Address either under City Centre, Street and house number, Post Code or Crossing or Intersection. This gets rectified when I connect the device to TT Home and try to operate the device and use option that restarts the device. Afterwards the device works perfectly fine. I have to do this only once and the first time it takes some time on TT Home to show me the keyboard as it's kind of stuck somewhere. So I think by using TT Home and operating the device through TT Home to use these options unlock the newly loaded map or set internal connections of files in the folder right as these are related to each other.
So either loading the original navcore or using the TT Home to see a demo of the route must have fixed my problem.
So my advise to update TT One XL - 32 MB devices (if you encounter problems) is to update it with a navcore version 8 and try to reload navcore version 9 on top of it overwriting files as prompted. Also try operating the device using TT Home when you load a new map for the first time, as this will make sure that all options are working in the device without keep restarting it.
From what I understand, there must be something (most likely could be a file) missing in the navcore versions 9 as against navcore versions 8. Mods here could check this.
I hope this would help someone to find a fix if they encounter a problem same as mine.
