What files do I need please

Postby Gerry5039 » Tue Dec 18, 2012 2:03 pm

Since Tomtom forced the upgrade to 9.465 we can not use the startup sound splash.ogg or the shut down sound suspend.ogg as it will not play them, can anyone help me with the files I must put back to get these working. The shut down one was brilliant as it used to remind me not to leave the TomTom in the car. I have the Tomtom GO 930.

Many thanks

Gerry

Installing 9.465 should not have any effect on your .ogg files.

What was your navcore prior to 9.465?
Are the .ogg files still in the root of your 930?

It was 8.0.24 but tomtom wiped the ogg files on upgrade, now there is no startup and shut down sounds. I did back the .ogg files up, but they have changed some files or deleted them mate.

I am not disputing what you say, but as long as I have been doing this, I have never known of a TT Home navcore update to delete anything. Where did the .ogg files come from & were they name "Splash & Suspend" when you downloaded them?

They came on my 930 when I got it mate, and they worked perfectly, Tomtom told me they removed that facility in version 9.

The facility to be able to use custom startup and shutdown sounds.

I have never had this problem on a X20 with any of the 9.XXX navcore. I use a SE version set to emu X50, when I'm not testing a new navcore.
If you can give me specifics on the .ogg files, I'll look for them.

Thanks mate, the splash.ogg is the tomtom drums, the suspend.ogg is Initiating shut down sequence both after market I believe, but just will not work in Navcore 9.465, thanks for taking the time to look at it for me buddy.

It is true That With The New NavCore 9465 the startup sound and suspend sound is no longer supported.
To overcome this problem is to use a nc 9465SE in the x50 mode or a DSA version in x50 mode.
But I found something that worked with the original NavCore 9465. I tested it on me Go 630
(same range as the 930) and it works. So you can always give it a trial. Download the file and place
the folders and files in the root of the 930.

Are you using the original 9465 or the DSA/SE version.
