What is the name of the file for the "Map of Benelux, France

Tue Nov 27, 2018 5:51 pm

Hi,

I saw on [Please Register or Login to download file] that it exists a map named "Map of Benelux, France and DE, AT, CH".

I am surprised not to find any download links for this map in the v1010/1011 and v1015 maps.

This may be because the name of the map is different from the name given on the site where you can buy the map.

Does anyone know the name of the file to download to get this map?

Thanks & regards,

We don't have either the map or the meta code available so can you buy it and donate it to the community for other people to use as well?

Hi fredderf,

Thanks for the feedback. ;-)

I tried to buy it a few months ago when the maps in v1010/1011 were released and I tried again a few weeks ago to buy it in v1015, but the TomTomHome software and the TomTom website won't let me buy it, because my TomTom XL 330 (TomTom 30 Series) is marked as EOL. :022:

I looked quickly at the maps available in v1005 and v1000 and I couldn't find this map anymore.

I have the feeling that no one ever bought this map.

Thanks & regards,

That particular map 1015_9101 is only for NAV3 or newer devices so not available for us unless someone with a NAV3 buys it then creates & shares the meta with us

Hi biggerdave,

Ok. Thanks for the information. :023:

I'm curious: how did you know that this map is only available for Nav3 devices? Is it written somewhere on TomTom's website or on the forum?

Thanks & regards,

Hi biggerdave,

One more question. :-p

You write that this map only exists in 1015.9101.

As I have a TomTom XL 330 (TomTom 30 Series) with a navcore v8.083, I can only take, according to the "chart map", the following maps:
1015.9108
1015.9109
1015.9110
1015.9156
1015.9158

Does this map only exist in 1015.9101 or does it also exist in other versions?

Thanks & regards,

I cannot tell you how I know as I would have to kill you then!
The latest v1015_9101/9102/9103/9114/9150/9171 are all for the newer devices only although we've been lucky to get a (very) few of the metas for these maps
TomTom themselves are very bad at clarifying which maps are for which devices and often customers only find out AFTER paying for it and THEN finding it's not compatible with their older device and have to jump through hoops to get a refund

PS that particular map with that coverage is only available in that version

Hi biggerdave,

I had a feeling you couldn't tell me how you know that.

I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't just me who looked wrong at the TomTom site or at the forum and that I could have found the information myself.

Thanks for the reply! :-)

[Please Register or Login to download file]
If you look on the site your mentioned onder Device compatibility
then you see that this map is not availble for your device.

Hi holyhead,

You're right: I hadn't see that section. Thanks for the tip. ;-)

I checked the 2 first character of the serial number of my TomTom XL 330 (TomTom 30 Series) with a navcore v8.083: it is "RM". The website says me "We have stopped sales of map updates and other services for this model. Read more about it here." but it says me not taht it is not compatible.

There are two differend things it said the sale is stopped. If the sale was not stopped they say if it is compatible.
TomTom is not giving info for hacked devices off course.

Alternative is
Europe_Zone_3_1015.9147
Andorra,Austria,Belgium,Denmark,France,Germany,Gibraltar,Italy,Liechtenstein,Luxemburg
Malta,Monaco,Netherland,Portugal,San Marino,Spain,Switserland,Vatica City
Deleta maps
DE,EN,ES,FR,IT,NL,PT
and files
arp_0_2000_10_10_f
arp_1_2000_10_10_f
arp_2_2000_10_10_f
cphonmlh

Then you have 1.56 GB

Ok. Good to know. ;-)
Thanks for the information.

I don't understand what you are meaning.

Do you mean if I enter a serial number of a device with a navcore that was patched with FastActiavte?

For the device compatibility check, the form requests only the 2 first character of the serial number.

I didn't know it was possible to delete countries from a map.

But on my TomTom XL 330 (TomTom 30 Series) with a navcore v8.083, I unfortunately only have 949 MB of free space, keeping only the navcore and a voice.

I mean TomTom is stopped with selling maps for this device. So official no map is compatible with this device.
So you only have 1GB forget the map I mentioned (Is for 2GB).

Hi holyhead,

holyhead wrote:I mean TomTom is stopped with selling maps for this device. So official no map is compatible with this device.

Yes if I try to buy any map or other service, TomTom Home and the website from TomTom don't let me buy it because my device is reported as obsolete (EOL=EndOfLife): the list of the actually EOL devices is available [Please Register or Login to download file] .

holyhead wrote:So you only have 1GB forget the map I mentioned (Is for 2GB).

I tried the map Europe_Central_1011_9046, but it is to big: the size uncompressed is 1,00 GB, but my TomTom XL 330 (TomTom 30 Series) with a navcore v8.083 only has 949 MB of free space, keeping only the navcore and a voice.

I will now try the map Europe_Central_1GB_1000_8645.

Always first look if a metacode is available without this code downloading is a waist of time.
