Before I post my totally noob question , please forgive me as this is my first post and im a total noob at this.
Ive been looking at forums for literally 3 days and i have only gotten more confused and frustrated...
so i am asking for help...

whats the best navcore version and map version of US & Canada (thats easily available for download) should I install? I hope I asked the right question , if i didnt , please forgive , I need to update this really old cheap GPS and move to another state as ive found another job.....so ill need this...
please please help...
here are some version related info from my current gps...

There aren't any 890 USA & C maps available. United States 890.4234 is available. It is compatible with your current navcore.
If you need Canada, there are 3 885 USA & C maps that are compatible with your navcore.

ive updated no issues so far....but i think i need newer maps...
im trying to route to the address 2501 S STATE HIGHWAY 121 BUS, LEWISVILLE, TX, 75067 but it will only find house #s till 2198 S STATE HWY.....Which map version which is newer than 890.4234 for United States do you think is easily available for me to upgrade to?

890 is current and I guess you'll always notice that a few numbers are missing.
It's a database thing...
You have to wait several weeks for new maps.

The TT Team will NEVER recommend to you any map that is not the newest, unless there isn't one available for your device. If this is the case, we will recommend a map from the previous Edition.

sorry if this an super-noob-stupid question !!

Updating XL device can be tricky, so you have to make a backup and check some NC's.
You could start with the 9.450 with Memoryboost that I uploaded.
If it is not starting properly by default you can check the thread for instructions on how to edit the reskin file,
set it to 36-xl and there should be a good chance it works.

but I noticed something....street names(Text To Speech) is all wonky...names are all messed up....instead of saying Left on Greenville, it says left on shpakamaleihoadkhkjwdhkd lol

You told us in post 1 that you have Tom installed. You can confirm it a couple of ways. Go to Main Menu, Change preferences, Voices on your unit, or open the unit's ttgo.bif file with notebook.
