Hello all,
I currently have a TT One from 2010, but it's now obsolete as it can't host maps over 2Gb.
I'm thinking switching to a new one, but from what I've seen is this forum, it seems that latest TT models, like the Classic V6, cannot be patched with FastActivate or any other patching software.
So I wonder which recent TT device I could buy, even a second hand one if the model is not on sale anymore, to use patched maps and switch easily between two continents.
I don't need features like live traffic or so.
And I would prefer to stay with TT over Garmin, because I find TT models smaller than Garmin's, which is nice to me.
Thank you for your help.

I think you have to update your bootloader from the One.
So reed next topic.
general-discussions-about-tomtom/tomtom-one-t22570.htmlPlace your TTgo.bif on this Topic. (example)
ttgo.bif:
DeviceName=TomTom Go
DeviceVersionHW=ONEv4
DeviceSerialNumber=Z1xxxxxxxxxx
BootLoaderVersion=530
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=6560
ApplicationVersion=7914
To get the ttgo.bif info use FastAktivate nummer 8

Forgot to mention that my TT doesn't have SD card slot.
Here it is :

ApplicationVersion=3145439.2
CurrentMap=Europe_South_West_1025_9386

So, as it seems that my TT's disk space cannot be extended, any other ideas about a more recent model ?

It's not an easy question to answer as it depends on your own individual needs...
There's still a lot of people using an XL IQ Routes model like yours but of course you are limited on available space. If that's something you can't live with, you might want to look at any NAV2 Go x40/x50 as all of those models have an SD card slot and are still (currently) updateable with downloaded maps.
Then there's the newly updateable NAV3 devices as detailed in the tutorial:

I only use my TT for car trips, no bike nor trek.
I manage a couple of bookmarks, create some step-by-step road trips, add some speed cameras POI, very basic usage actually.
As long as it can take me anywhere I want the fastest way, I'm happy with it. I don't care about live traffic or any real-time informations, I use Waze instead if needed.

Ok, well your IQ Routes is still relevant and updateable so personally I would keep it

But it is not updateable anymore, unless I've missed some point.
Since it cannot host recent maps because of the limited disk size, and no SD card slot, I'm currently stuck with maps that are more than 2 years old now.
And I got some troubles during last summer trip where I couldn't found places that we're not on the TT. Once there, thanks to Waze, the TT though we were in the middle of a field

It is updateable...it depends on what map you want and what will fit in the available space

I'm currently downloading an european 1.5g map, to see if it will work.
I remember that I couldn't found any map under 2Gb when the 1030 updates came out, that's why I though I was screwed with my old TT.

No, as I pointed out above...your device is still relevant and updateable with the latest maps.
There are plenty of choices, all you have to do is to find a map that suits your needs and will fit in the available space on your IQ Routes

Ok, I've managed to find both USA and Europe 1080 maps lesser then 2Gb, and they work properly.
Thanks for your help
