Hi,
are there currently TomTom models for sale that have a navcore that can be patched to use maps like the, old, TomTom one v3?
Thanks for the attention

Not quite the very latest NAV5 (which uses WiFi) models BUT currently you can patch the NAV3's
tutorials/how-update-patch-tomtom-nav3-devices-t21959.html and quite soon even the NAV4's
See here for what NAV2/3/4/5 models are

Many Via models are NAV3. Does that mean they can be patched now and maps updated? That seems to conflict with this thread:
https://www.navitotal.com/tutorials/important-note-for-new-tomtom-models-like-via-start20-t8690.html?hilit=Patch%20hack%20viaThat plainly says all Via models are not touchable. Granted this thread was started almost 10 years ago but there are relatively recent posts in the thread.

So does it mean that all the devices mentioned in this
thread have a compatible software version:
11.805.3066201.530
12.075.3065980.74
12.075.3065980.84

I'm pretty damned sure these are all NAV3 navcores and if so then it can indeed be deleted as we know these NAV3's can be cracked
fredderf can hopefully confirm this for us?

Yes, you're right, Via models can now be removed from that old thread however, some of the models mentioned there are NAV4's so I'll remove the NAV3 references as the rest is still relevant. It should be noted that not ALL NAV3 navcores can be cracked though.

Hmm, I've got a Via 125 with 12.075.3065980.84--I'm gonna have to give it a whirl.
Update: It took a lot of attempts. I tried various maps and various setups including a TTactivator on Windows VM on macOS. Finally used a dedicated Windows laptop and Eastern US and Canada 1060 map, after many failed attempts manually putting in meta codes for 1065 maps, and even then, I had to upload meta data, reboot device, choose map, reboot device, choose map (seemed to be a loop), upload meta data to device again reboot, choose map, upload meta data... eventually on one of the reboots, it came up with the map working.

If you choose the one with wireless network feature, you can update your map without the hassle of disconnecting.
