Let me list the exact steps I have been following :-

1. Backup tomtom to folder on PC
2. Erase the SD card, but do not format it
3. With SD card inserted into PC, Copy the 950 map folder, extracted files from 9.702 cab and Fastactivate.exe to the SD card root directory
4. Copy ttgo.bif from tomtom backup on PC to SD card root directory
5. Remove SD card from PC, and insert into tomtom unit
6. Start tomtom unit and allow to initialise all the way
7. Connect tomtom unit to PC and select 'Yes' to connect to PC
8. Navigate to SD card storage using Explorer
9. Launch Fastactivate.exe from SD card and run options 1, 2 ,3 then Quit
10. Eject tomtom and allow to reboot.

Please correct as you see fit.

I've attached a screenshot of the files on the SD card - does it look right?

2. Copy the 950 map folder to the SD card. Delete ALL .DCT files in the 950 map folder.
3. Unzip the 9.702 cab & put all of the files & folders on the card.
4. Put FastActivate.exe on the card.
5. Put a copy of the GO 730's ttgo.bif file on the card.
6. Run FastActivate.exe options 1,2 & 3.
7. Do neither more than nor less than steps 1 thru 6.
8. Put the SD card in the 730 & boot it.

Hi thanks, but your steps confuse me. Surely step 8 comes after step 5 before step 6?

And at which points do i connect/disconnect tomtom from pc?

Everything is being done on the SD card, which is in your PC's card reader, therefore is connected to your PC!!

Wait, so SD card does not need to be inside unit at time of patching navcore?

On 6 Oct I gave you exact/explicit instructions & have confirmed them 3 times since then. Today is 09 Oct & you have yet to follow them, especially STEP 7. If you won't follow the instructions, including STEP 7, then there is nothing more that I can do to help you.

OMG. tendriver you are a legend as are the rest of you who've help me with this. I had been faffing about between internal and external and SD but today finally sorted it!

Sorry to have looked like I was ignoring the instructions I wasn't I was just very confused.

Please tell me this looks okay, and if there is anything else I can check to make sure I have done the trick properly.
